Congrats on the Corolla. Toyota definitely went the right direction. The only criticism I have is the fake exhaust tips on hatch, not a big deal I could live with them though

Indeed I can! The 2018 Accord Sport 2.0T 10AT that I traded my 2017 Si sedan for was faster and more comfortable, but less entertaining.

I then tried to combine a 2017 Ridgeline and 2018 Accord into a 2019 RDX, which turned out to be the most disappointing Honda product I've ever owned due to engine, transmission, and infotainment system problems.

I'm currently back in a 2019 Ridgeline and looking to add a 2019 Miata Grand Touring manual as a second vehicle (when I can find one - they're as rare as Civic Type R's!)

Earlier this year, I bought a couple of motorcycles and a scooter. A few weeks ago, I was rear-ended while riding one of the motorcycles by a distracted driver. I'll eventually heal, but the motorcycle was totaled. I've been riding motorcycles since I was a child, but this event prompted me to sell my other motorcycle and give up commuting on them on public roads - there are too many idiot drivers texting, eating, and applying makeup. For me, the reward is no longer greater than the risk.
Why get a miata when you can get a Porsche

Doubt it... my 85 911 runs beautifully and was probably cheaper aren't new miatas like 35k?
They are around $25k MSRP for a 2019 MX 5. I wasn't referring to new. You should always buy it used a few years old, although my help desk guy who is looking for a used one told me a lot of enthusiasts are grabbing them keeping the prices high

Porsche, especially 911's are very solid
My older brothers friend bought a 1986 Porsche 944 new and had problems with it since he left the dealership
I was 18 years old at the time and thought Porsche was a good car but seeing my brothers friend having a ton of problems with the car gave me a different view of Porsche. He got rid of it in 88 and bought a BMW ( non US built) I think it was a 318 or 325

Like Mini, Saab, and others, Porsche design has never appealed to me. I think they look quirky and awkward. When I was younger, they were unattainable and now that I can afford one, I still have no interest.

The only Miata I'd be interested in is a new 2019 Grand Touring manual (not the RF and with no other options or packages). There are relatively few Grand Tourings on lots and even fewer with manual transmissions. Engine changes were made for 2019 that raised the redline and added another 26 HP,. The MSRP is right at $32K. They're easy to buy at invoice with no haggling, but $30K+TT&L is still a lot of money for a modestly-powered, seasonal two-seater.

Just picked up a new 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback XSE this week, myself. Although it can’t handle or is as quick as the Si, it’s a overall better car in quality and looks inside and out, I think. It’s also a pleasure to drive and not have to worry about the jerky 1st to second shift and awful rev hang. Only negative about it is no available sunroof, but I’ll hopefully get used to that.
Still have the Si, but I may sell it, as it’s becoming a pain in the ass to own for a whole host of reasons
One question I forgot to ask you about your Toyota. Is it red
Wish you luck with your new car

It also depends where it’s manufactured.

I have owned a 2015 Jetta TSI, a 2016 Golf R, and 2017 GTI (well owned the R leased the other 2)

Now I could tell the material fit and finish of the R was a couple levels above the Jetta and GTI. The R was manufactured in Germany, while the two others were manufactured in Mexico. Is it a coincidence I think not.

That being said I never had any problems but all were low miles like under 40k when I got rid of them.

Cheers
