I wonder if it's the difference between the LX and the other models. It was 92 degrees when I got in my car an hour ago, it had been setting in the sun in my yard, and it was still getting cool by the time I got to the end of my street. I have 25% windows, and use a cheapo window shade, so take that for what it's worth.
Don't believe so, but I could be wrong. The only difference should be the dual climate zones.

Seems like all the threads with AC problems are Ex and Ex-T's I haven't seen any with LX. I'm in South Florida and AC cools pretty quick in my LX.

Mine cools pretty quickly and it's been 100+ degrees here. Mine even has it cool by the time I get in from a remote start. EX L

After seeing all of the multiple threads I've noticed my car isn't too cool either, and its been 90+ for the last few days. Not too pleasant I tell you. Just set up an appointment for next week.
Let me know what they say! Maybe the 1.5l engine can't handle the AC as well as the 2.0..

Hey guys,
I hope everyone is enjoying their week. I have a few questions for all of you.
First, how long does it take to really cool down your car. Here (Baltimore) it's around 90 degrees everyday and even after 20-25 minutes I still need my AC to be on full blast to feel ok (not cold, just ok).
Second, do you hear a noise when the AC is on. This one is quite difficult to explain but it's almost as if there were bubbles in the AC. As soon as I turn it off, no more sound.
I'm close to considering action under Florida's lemon laws.
Have to check my records but it may be a total of 3 weeks now in various loaners and rentals.
It's like a death trap in the car at times when the a/c shuts down and we wait for it to get cool again. The dealer has consulted with techs to understand "codes" and they've replaced various parts.
It's gone in 4 times now. The final attempt may be a new compressor.
Meanwhile, I've been without all the great features of my '16 Civic Turbo ( right-turn camera, satellite radio, compliments from strangers, moon roof, new tires, familiarity, etc)
I don't mind being a partner in working out the glitches but hopefully this gets resolved very soon.

I'm right there with ya. Mine has been in service longer than I've had it in my actual possession and my patience is definitely wearing thin. They are in the process of installing a new compressor on my vehicle as well. I'm just like you. I miss the car I purchased and love all the features and creature comforts that come installed with it. But this whole fiasco has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm hoping to get mine back either this evening or tomorrow. If it's still not fixed then I'm moving forward with a lemon law case here in VA. I didn't sign up to be a beta tester for Honda.

Make sure ECO mode is off - it has a significant effect on AC cooling power in my experience.
When I have the AC on, the first thing I do is turn on the "re circulation" button so no warm outside air comes in. Not sure if somebody mentioned that yet, but its a biggee when running AC. Then I make sure the econ button is off, and my fan is at the 4th setting. Temps here in Colorado gave been 90-100 I have an EX-L.
I do have black leather and the dark gray paint, but I do have tinting. After about 15-20 minutes I put on the econ button when driving.

^^^^ This ^^^^ I wonder if there is something to this, that the 1.5L turbo engine has a harder time keeping up. Anybody with an EX 2.0 have AC problems?

Mine is really cold, and quick. Something is wrong, take it in.
My MINI Coopers were never as good.

My Touring Coupe's air seems to work OK. Maybe not great but acceptable. I am dealing with 90 degree Georgia weather right now.

I would doubt it. Either engine is more than adequate to turn a low-resistance modern A/C compressor at the required rpms. Even without a turbo.

I found a better way to describe the noise coming from the AC... It's chirping! Whenever I turn it on, it's chirping. I've tried for 2 weeks now and it stops as soon as I turn the AC off. Hopefully it's won't take too long to fix. Going tomorrow afternoon for them to inspect it and tell me when they can fix it. Will update post with results
