Keeping it till I pay it off, then it's either time for a C8 or Bronco lol

47 now with an 18 year old in a 2019 FK7 too. He is blessed to have that and is way young to be in a FK8. His goal was a R by 22, it will likely get passed on to him.

For me, the type R was more of a want than need because it’s my second car. What I like about the type R is that it allows me to enjoy driving a manual, performance and mod it and still leave me room for other priorities in life. My next car will be a Tesla, whether I have to trade in the R or not, it depends on what make sense for me financially. I have considered the M3 also, but it’s also about 3x more than the type R, and modding it will be expensive as well. For the price of the M3, that’s like half of the downpayment for a mortgage where I live.

Plan on keeping it for now. I just bought it about a month ago. It's the best car I've ever purchased brand new. The future of the TypeR will dictate whether I keep it or not. If Honda comes out with something drastically better, I may consider trading it in. That will depend.

I haven't even made my first car payment yet, but I will try to pay it off early.

Seeing as how I kept my EM1 for 16 years before replacing it with the FK8 I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon.

That’s pretty damn awesome sir.

As much as I love my Type R, I could see myself going back to driving my putt putt 95 Accord and letting my oldest son drive the fun car when he’s old enough to drive..

Then again, that could be an accident or a ticket waiting to happen so maybe not, lol

I plan on keeping mine for another 4.5-5 years, and then I'll evaluate my options based on what the auto industry looks like at that time. I'd be super interested in an all-electric Honda performance variant.

I love my R, but I do feel like the transmission leaves something to be desired. I may come to a point where I call it quits - not there yet though.

If they re-release the Evo, and it’s an improvement on the X, I’d dump my FK8 in a heartbeat.

I usually switch cars every 8-12 months but trying to stick with the FK8 as I have a lot invested into it already.

I'll probably pick up another car just for the weekends as I move the Type R into a more dedicated track build.

I’m actually looking at an RS3. They gave me a good trade offer but I’m having a hard time convincing myself the Audi is worth the extra money.

As much as I love my FK8, if you've seen any of my recent posts recently, you know that financially it's stupid for me to continue to hold onto it when I don't even have a place of my own yet. So it's likely I'll get rid of it and focus on being able to get to that point, and maybe when I'm older and more mature I'll be able to return. Not 100% decided yet though.

Mine is paid for and I am going to try and keep it for a very long time. If money gets tight I can always garage it for a season if need be. This car has some sentimental value and its something my family and I really enjoy :)

Keeping mine for the long term. Will eventually be supplementing it with an EV down the road when I get a house.
