Although...

Honda reliability isn't quite what it used to be...

Lol JD Power is a complete joke and shouldnt be taken seriously at all. Ford, Chrysler, VW, Chevy, Mini, Mercedes Benz, and BMW above Honda? Give me a break, Honda isn't where it used to be, I'll give you that but no way those other companies come even close to touching them. Honda's biggest problem/complaint is their infotainment system, can't say the same about those other ones.

I was only posting that in reply to the guy saying Honda reliability is amazing compared to Hyundai/Kia. Things have flip flopped a bit from years ago. But no question Honda is ranked way too low. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with consumer complaints/issues with the infotainment systems.

Yup a breakdown of the compositions of those points Im pretty sure that the infotainment is the one hurting the scores pretty bad.

The Veloster N starting at $26,900 puts it at a very competitive price point if you ask me. Check out the starting price of something like a Golf R.

Exaclty my point, 27k for no options. For 1k more you are into a wrx, with a lot more options and a much better car. I’ve owned hyundai’s, they where pure garbage. why do you think they have 10yr/100000 mile warranty? Not because they are well made.

Anyone seen this BS

The guy driving the Type R sucks, just look at the bad lines and over/early braking. I'm pretty sure the guy in the Veloster n is a racing instructor too. Against some squealing scrub trying to blame the car.

LOL. What is an apex.

The guy in the Type R is seriously bad for trying to do a comparison...

Don't get me wrong the N looked good but seriously the driver mod difference is real in this video

this is dumb comparison because they didn't do a driver swap. A good driver makes a big difference.

Front end is a rip off the ST, in my opinion. Hyundai hasn’t shown much originality in styling, but I do applaud them for their growth and marketing strategies. They know how to appeal to the average consumer and have proven themselves in the industry.
Agreed, they haven't for years

Almost every review I've seen says that the Veloster N is more fun to drive. So based on that, it does compete with the Type R.

wonder how much of that "fun" is due to the exhaust crackles that they added.
I'd actually argue that on the street the N would probably be a ton more fun because early torque. With the CTR you kind of have to wait it out until 2500, but even then I really don't feel the turbo kick until 3000-3500 RPM. The N hits its peak around 1500 RPM. So you get pretty high power pretty early on while with the Type R, you kind of have to wait for the power to kick in.
