Hi All,
What's your opinion about fram xg7317 oil filter . I use mobil1 filter but I think the fram ultra synthetic is also similar to mobil1 and little cheaper.

I've been using Fram XG7317 with full synthetic Mobil1 oil and havent had any issues. 2k since my last oil change.

Totally different car and engine but my Pops has been using Fram filters on his IS300 since his first oil change. It now has 288k and still running.
Pretty confident it'll be just fine for our cars as well.

I was using the ultra synthetic on my corolla but I just wann see how many are using it. Anyway all the filter are manufactured by handful of companies and others just rebrand with their names

I used that Fram filter for years as it was the same for basically every Honda I’ve had. Never had a problem but I haven’t kept a car past 40k in 15+ years either. I switched to the Mobil 1 filter on this car because I only change the filter every other time and it just makes me feel better. Seems YouTube has some comparisons that really hit the fram hard. I’m no expert but my thoughts are that any store bought filter and oil is fine as long as it’s changed regularly. Imo, it’s the frequency that makes a difference and not so much the product.

Buy a Fram and then buy a Wix or Napa Gold. Cut them apart. Easy to see the difference. Or just watch this video.

Thanks for the video
No problem. My buddy worked at Napa like 20 years ago and they had a cut apart one and he told me back then never buy fram, only Wix or Napa Gold. I've been a die hard Napa Gold buyer ever since.

Fram ultra sythetic is great as per the video right. He said the media is kind of cotton and wire mesh is there etc. I am just talking about Fram Ultra Sythetic
