Here’s a few pictures of my new Volk ce28’s club racers. I still need to mount the tires & ceramic coat the wheels.

Hows the ride so far?

New to the Forum. I must say the Forum at large has been a huge help in deciding on wheels and tires. Here is my result:
2019 Civic Type R Polished Metal Metallic purchased early August
VMR V710 Wheels 19x9.5 +45 Matte Black purchased through Discount Tire from VMR Wheels - Brandon at VMR was super patient and super helpful, very accommodating
Conti Extreme Contact DWS 06 275/30/19 purchased from Discount Tire, Roanoke, Texas - shout out to Trevor
No rub
No tire sticking out from the edge of the fenders
Gorilla black lug nuts
Stock suspension, stock everything else

Looks like it pokes too much
I like how it looks. I'm currently waiting 2/3 weeks for my konig ampliforms 18x9.5 to come in, they have a similar offset of +35. Going to pair them with Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ in 265 35. Those run a little wide so they will probably look like 275s. I'm on stock ride height so I'll be fine but might get some rubbing in the back if I hit a hard bump. Can't freaking wait to get these stupid heavy wheels and bleh Continentals off my car.

To those of you who got the NSX wheels--where did you guys get your lug nuts? It looks like I'll need 14x1.5mm (19mm height) but I'm not seeing a good place to buy those.

today was great weather and had finally installed my @Mishimoto intake so wanted to have an excuse to drive...plus had to do dinner. put on about 50 miles for the first time with the new nsx wheels and 245/35/19 potenza re-71r tires.

wow...just wow! dammit i love the wheels and tires! still new so a little squirmy but on the way home i took a cloverleaf at about 75 mph. sticky...love it. i do not need 265 or 275 width tires on the streets to smile big smiles.

now with stickier tires the car will pitch a little bit more - meaning your feet stick more while you go around the corner yet your body continues to have momentum toward the outside of the turn ala pitches. it's basic physics. this why for you guys throwing on wider and/or stickier tires and getting more lateral grip in the corners - you WILL notice the car roll a bit more. therefore, tighter suspensions ala stiffer sway bar(s) is required to counter the stickier or more lateral grip tires. if you don't believe me, ask the pro autoxers and trackers. everything works in unison...make a change in one thing and will impact another until you counter it. simple physics...

btw there is ZERO change to the stock zero torque steer front end design...that was my goal all along and why the wheels at 19x8.5 +55mm et work!

Finally got my wheels and tires mounted and got a chance to wash the car. Super happy with this setup. Completely changes the driving characteristics of the car.
Acura NSX F Wheel Set

Diameter: 19”

Width: 8.5”

Offset: +55mm

Weight: 18.9 lbs/ea (after powdercoat application)

Hub: Requires hubcentric ring (70.1mm – 64.1mm)

Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (245/35zr19)

Notes: Wheels were chem-stripped to raw material, then powdercoated in gloss black to match the OEM centercaps.

I have attached my wheel upgrade analysis documenting fit, cost, and projected savings based on available tire compounds in the 19” range.

Where did you guys get your lug nuts? What size are they?

adapters being the lug nuts ball-to-conical adapters or the hub ring? if the nut adapters, they're made by motorsport hardware or united speed racing carries them too.

hate the oem heavy and ugly chrome nuts which are ball seats and are 22 mm sockets. aftermarket have much better choices and are mainly conical seats and use 17 mm or 19 mm sockets. the reason oem mfgers like honda and porsche or others use ball seats is because they want you to buy their nuts...that's it.

i'm using titan 7 forged titanium nuts, spoon black open end nuts, and kics iconix r40 rotating base nuts...all conical seats.

Wait, you're using 3 different lug nuts? If I misunderstood you, which do you prefer?

Yeah, it looks like I'm going to get an adapter for conical to ball seated. I just got the NSX wheels but didn't realize I'd need new lugs also hehe. Having a helluva time trying to find ball seated lugs that look alright.

Is there a downside to using an adapter? Trying to do my research this time around.

I was thinking of getting these: http://www.ezaccessory.com/Porsche_Ball_Seat_Lug_Nuts_14x1_5_Black_p/98-0029bk.htm

but I also found this post that said the adapters don't fit well: https://www.civicx.com/threads/ctr-lug-nuts-solution.22905/page-2#post-477821 makes me nervous

I saw you made a comment like, a year ago about how our stock CTR lug nuts would fit a NSX wheel; when I went to have it installed today, they told me I needed to get a 19mm nut 'cause the 22mm wouldn't work. Not sure what to do now lol.

I'm just trying to find some decent closed lug nuts that are 19mm and that seems like a hard ask for some reason.

yes, have 3 sets of lugs...can only use one set at a time of course. best set is the titan 7 forged titanium one hands down...less than 1 lb for all 20 nuts.

no down side really. just check your torque once a while on the nuts using adapters. they are used on many track cars with ball seat wheels.

not many aftermarket ball seats as you're finding out. yes, porsche ones fit as long as 14x1.5.

i prefer conical nuts because tons of options.

yes the 22 mm nut fits but doesn't mean you can use just any 22 mm socket cuz tight in there.

So the Porsche ones fit? I'm reading a lot of threads here and there seems to be a lot of people saying that the Porsche ones don't work due to the ball radius being smaller than Acura. Is that something I should worry about?
