Don't think you'd have a working air filter if you do that

A drop in filter with improve flow and sounds as well. Green filter, AEM, and K&N make popular options all around $40-50
Gotcha. Thanks for the words of wisdom my man!

I have been EXTREMELY happy with my red $56 torque solutions blow off plate. It features zero issues with drawing in HOT air since it's not an intake and gives you the loud as all get out pppppsssssssttttt sound. Under moderate to heavy foot it's loud enough to startle the crowd. Trust me. It's what you want and are looking for!

Im with 86salmon on this one. He even helped me when i wasnt sure where to attach the support bracket on my bms intake. Fuel trims are great and it sounds fantastic. I got mine for around 190 straight from bms.

Did they include a silicone hose with yours? Also any sound clips?

DIY is probably the cheapest. $40 K&N cone from Walmart and $10-15 plumbing pieces from H.Depot. Of course, this method requires you destroy your stock airbox with a dremel cutting tool.

I ask because they said they were going to start including it in the box.
I wasn't aware of this. That would be cool if they did. Did they say when they were going to start?

I was looking to order a PRL short ram intake. Should I get a heat shield for it or does it not matter?

Is there a reason to go SRI over standard CAI?

Also, a good rule in life is don't cheap out on things. This is especially true with cars. Why spend all that money to buy one and then throw cheap shit in it? A 2nd good rule is to thoroughly do your research.

Some people do it who fear hydrolock from a CAI. IMO, instead of an SRI use the stock airbox with a performance drop-in and replace the stock intake hose with a PRL silicone one. You won't heat soak like an SRI. An SRI is basically sound and not much more.

Obviously the real performance choice is a CAI.

Ah, gotcha. I figured it was more sound than anything. No way an open intake in the engine bay would provide cool enough air to make a difference.
