Same here in Italy, i've probably seen three Civic Polished gray hatch in two and an half year (out of 10/12 Civics encountered). Good things is that people is very curious about this car and other owners greet you like motorcyclists do. :spaz:

Really? That's cool. They don't really do that in Germany. But they are germans, you know. But I have seen many times that pople were staring at the car. That was a bit strange. However 2 little kids (brothers I think) told me once when I was waiting in the car that I have a "Cool" car! That was cute. I think this car is just has too "extreme" looks for the Germans. I mean 80% of all cars here are VW, Audi, BMW or Mercedes.
I just checked it out of curiosity. There are 13.500 VWs/9.300Mercs/6.800BMWs/6.900Audis/5.000Fords(Ford EU)/1.200Porsches/3.900 Opels/1.300Fiats/1.100Toyotas for sale (used or new) in my 50km region and only 300 Honda.

Sedans - literally every color especially black and white

Coupes - rarely but if I do it’s usually a white si

Hatches - surprisingly I see SGP a lot in my area, plenty of white/grey hatches. I hardly see lunar silver though (my color)... maybe bc people here think it’s boring? :(

I actually wanted a grey one, but this white one I have was a better deal, the dealer couldnt sell it, then the dealership used it for 2-3 months. I think nobody wanted to buy a white civic here.

I barely see any 10th gen civics here in Germany. I see maybe 1 or 2 10th gen a day, or ZERO for a few days if I dont drive much. And I’ve only seen one white Sport+ (=1.5t hatch with moonroof and Sport exhaust) like mine in the last 3 months and that was in Hungary.
Question, are American/Japanese brands prevalent in Europe?

It depends on the country. Here in Germany you can mostly see german cars and maybe Ford (European Ford models of course). In Hungary (where I come from) there a lot of german and japanese cars (Toyota mostly, Honda, Mitsubishi). There are a LOT of used cars that came from Germany, because the requirements related to Emission are not as strict in Hungary as they are in Germany, so a lot of shi**y diesel cars are imported to Center and East Europe from Germany, Italy and Austria. That's the main reason why there are a lot of german cars in Hungary for example. And the VW diesel scandal just accelerated this process.
American brands are not typical. Chevrolet left Europe a few years ago. Ford is typical, but all of them are produced in Europe and there are differences between the US and EU models. The "largest" Ford you can officially buy here is the Explorer Hybrid, but I've never seen one. The trim levels are also different in Europe and the cars are usually more expensive here. For example you can't even buy a civic here without the Honda Sensig system. All of the cars with the 1.5L turbo engine have full LED headlights and the bigger HeadUnit, heated seats and a few more stuff.

Same to me, fortunately the dealer had the color i wanted!

rican/Japanese brands prevalent in Europe?
mmhhh i don't think so, not here at least. In Italy you can see lot of italian/german/french/korean cars. The most common Japanese car you can see is the Nissan Qashqai, because they offer good discounts and diesel engines (made by Renault), Honda don't sell a lot because they do not practice discounts, Toyotas are most common in the cities because of the hybrid drivetrain. Ford sells well, but as Castor said, they have differences between US and EU model.

Add another body shape? They already offer 3 variants lol, well 4 if you count the Si as another one. Considering most cars don't even have a coupe or hatchback variant, I think Honda is fine. What body shape were you thinking of?

Okay, I've never even heard of that Nissan model before haha. So diesel engines are more prevalent in Europe due to emissions regulations?

I see one every day! oh wait, that is mine = AWESOME!
However, one that I do not get in and drive around..... I see many sedan, coups, hatchbacks... and their is another like mine at work. However, it is a Sport edition in SMM (Silver modern metallic).

They are everywhere... either Sedan, Coupe, HB and a few Type R. Type R are getting common where I live.

I will say, that sonic pearl is boring and unique at the same time... you can see Gen X Civics almost everywhere, but not a lot of that color at all~ almost 1-2 times a mo. The times I see it and more closely. It indeed is is a uniquely boring color - beautiful and bland if not in the right lightning and distance.

I think it's called Rogue Sport in the US (i've seen some of them last August in California).
Diesel had a huge sales boom in the late 90's/early 00's because it has a better fuel economy, furthermore the fuel itself is cheaper (than petrol).
For example: with a diesel Civicx you can easily do 20-23 Km/l (47-54mpg).
