Im still trying to turn in my NC plate "Type R" if you want to try for it. Shoot me your number in PM. Ill text you the moment they actual let me turn it in and you can try for it. Right now it hung up in plate transfer till it clears new car before they will let me turn it in.
I guess it does bother me. Evidently it bothered you by your response. I pay taxes to maintain my "privilege" on state roads.
Good luck getting your new plate this time! I was able to get mine although after looking at it from other people's point of view mine could have a different meaning than I intended.
The point he's making is that the DMV doesn't care that it's the chassis code, they care that they could potentially get a call from some pearl clutching old lady that was offended that they dared allow that through. They can't make exceptions because it being the car's chassis code is irrelevant to why they flagged it.
Funny related thing happened to me for my jeep. I wanted it to look like this picture. It's a jeep and I'm an RN. Well, after paying for it I got the letter like 4 weeks later stating that it was inappropriate. At first I couldn't see the reason why. And also didn't understand why it allowed me to pay for it in the first place. I had shown my friend the picture and he said oh that could be interpreted as "Gee porn". Haha. So then I had to find something else available and had to wait another 8 weeks to get that one. Man they think of everything.

I fully understand that afterseeing how the state of NC looks at these things. I just found the "move to another state if you don't like it" kind of a snide remark. It's all good..
This isn't license plate related but its about cars. The TV show Street Outlaws has a car called "Murder Nova". We had a young guy at work that was into drag racing & was really into Street Outlaws. He raced an S10. So he put a "Murder S10" sticker on his hard hat. Well somebody saw it & it frightened them. The General foreman had him remove it from his hard hat. Later that day, I was talking with the General foreman & he didn't understand the sticker. I had to explain that it was a name given to his S10 drag car. The PC police have created a population of wusses. Got to love it.
