So my 61,000 miles in less than two years arent really the same as some guy doing launches every street light in a conjested city. Im in 6th gear for 30 min.
That is the problem. These cars aren't meant to be treated as delicate ladies. They love to be F*ed.
Do a census and you will find out that the majority enjoy their car to the fullest last longer in general. :D:D:D:flame:

You need a latina friend to represent you on those talks with the dealership. They can make a huge deal about it and you will get 100% coverage plus a car rental/loaner for the entire time the car is on the shop.

This is exactly why I bought a 2019 sedan sport instead of the SI. I just did not trust this 1.5t engine with the direct injection and turbo pushing this little hamster to its limit. And I didn't even know about the oil dilution problem when I purchase my car. Get your car fixed and get rid of it. It will probably be nothing but problems here on out. Having this Honda the past year has been an eye-opener for me. I haven't had any problems with my car but the dealership treats me like a number. Have had a bunch of Nissan's over the years and have never had any issues with the cars at all. And the dealerships treat you like gold. Good luck man. Thanks for the post

This is a bit off topic, but here is a link to a Savagegeese review of the 2019 Honda Accord Sport 6 speed Manual. The owner of this car expresses his disappointment with Honda, and is giving them a last chance with this car

There is no doubt that Honda quality isn't what it used to be.

Bro they messed something up. If you had sex with a girl and a week later your penis starts to burn would you just take her word for it? Its just too much of a coincidence.

Posts like this is why we need to find out the real reason the engine broke; was it poorly made or did a faulty oil change doom the car? I won't be so quick to jump to conclusions and blame Honda making a bad engine until I get the full story on what caused this thing to break.

Ha ha I don't care, I would just be happy enough to get sex. I'll deal with the burning later

You clearly don't know what unreliable means.

The 1.5t has proven to be a solid engine. No doubt about it.

You guys may or may not know I founded and have run ElantraClub.com for almost 20 years. I was originally a long time Honda/Acura owner. I bought an '02 Elantra GT hatch and started my site because the quality of that car surprised me (it was actually designed in Europe, not Korea). After that I enjoyed my Forte SX.

Coming back to Honda was a real eye opener with this 10th gen. Don't get me wrong, I love my car. But the quality control is much different than it was. As is the paint quality. The real kicker is I thought Hyundai dealers blew. But the Honda dealers these days are every bit as bad or worse.

For me it has proven not to be a solid engine. My blown engine at 61k aside, Honda has offered an extended warranty 6 years unlimited miles due to oil dilution due to gasoline getting passed the pistons. They wouldn't do this for no reason. Its enough proof to show that they are aware of an issue in some meaning of the word one way or another, and are attempting to make right by their customers, just not me. I am sure some users will be fine, others wont.

The trick with the extended warranty is knowing how to apply the damn thing.

I think the quality issues started when these companies started to assemble and then build in the US (although the Si is built in Canada, so this might be a "built in the West" problem). My first 2004 Toyota Sienna and my 2006 Camry were both built in Japan, and the quality, materials etc of both these cars is/was outstanding. My 2013 Toyota Sienna on the other hand, built in Kentucky you can see the quality of the workmanship and materials is not up to par. 2 years ago I had to change the front struts, and I have had a few minor quality issues like the sliding door motors having to be replaced (Toyota did it for free).

My Lexus which is built in Japan is impeccable. All the materials are very high quality, no panel gaps, everything works perfectly although the car is 9 years old.I personally think "built in America" is the problem

Honestly, the built outside of Japan thing rings true. My previous Hondas were a CRX, Civic and Integra. All Japan built. All terrific.

My current Canadian built car has some real inconsistencies. I can literally fit my fingers in the rear decklid panel gap. A hood that makes popping sounds when I wax it. And paint quality that doesn't compare to my Hyundai products. The engineering is very good. The build quality, not so much.

People sure like to get really worked up over limited information and anecdotal reports.
I am fully aware of the heuristics of human reasoning and the implications of Bayes Rule. Regardless of the frequentists and Baysians out there, the facts are the facts:

1. Honda has extended the powertrain warranty to 1.5L Turbo Engines for select years (maybe select models, I still don't have the official documentation). The last link shows a letter from Honda, but I cannot vouch for its authenticity.

https://www.consumerreports.org/car...a-extends-warranty-on-troubled-turbo-engines/

https://www.wardsauto.com/engines/honda-extends-warranty-address-15l-gas-oil-dilution-problem

2. MY CAR ENGINE FAILED. Yes this is a single sample of hundreds of thousands of these engines sold.

Now here is my beef:

(1) Either the issue regarding my engine IS a known issue and Honda is not honoring he extended warranty

OR

(2) I just got a small defected engine and this is how they take care of the few of us who get screwed. They are a big corporation, they can absorb the loss and plus by treating us right will further promote the quality of their brand.

The real issue here is that they never ever once asked me 'how can we make this right?' They instead gave me whatever scraps they could from the table. Its better than nothing, and they don't legally have to do anything, but I bought a Honda because the are known for reliable cars and for how good they treat their customers. I am not a dog and I don't like being at the mercy of a corporation. I expected to be treated better and at least be extended the courtesy of asking for my input. That is what good business looks like.
