Add me to the chorus of Katana folks. First time I had anything other than halogen and it took a bit to get used to.

I've driven at night 4 times with them. One guy coming the other way hit his high beams, but kept them on instead of flashing them, so I don't know if he was being a goof (still had traffic behind me he would have bothered) or if it was to tell me mine are too bright.

Now I need to drop some money on fog and HB - the both look really silly being yellow, but thankfully I hardly ever use either.

Hey man, would you happen to have a photo of how the lights look? Planning on pulling the trigger on the Katana H11's since they match so well with the DRL's but want to make sure they match the TECHMAX mini H11's fogs too.
I ended up going for a less expensive fanless Hikari option instead for the Low Beams: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GKPR452/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also changed my mind on the color for the fogs and went with Alla lighting: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G5VLVNM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I really like them and have had no problem with being too bright for other drivers + the cutoff line is sharp and well defined and they match the DRL’s. I like that neither set has fans so it’s not as noisy and will probably get the more expensive / brighter Hikari’s for my high beams: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077BT6M6...9Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Apologies for the crappy pic, I just went out and snapped it with my iPad and it apparently was from the wrong angle because it makes the fogs outshine the headlights - in reality those headlights are really bright and do a good job of lighting up the road without the fogs.

Whether you go for the Katana’s or the Hikari’s I am sure you will be pleased with the results either way, those Katana’s looked amazing but I didn’t want the fans.

Before anyone asks, no, there is no yellow tint film on the fogs; that is all bulb color

If you haven't already, definitely add LEDs to the interior as well.
https://www.amazon.com/SEALIGHT-Rep...=sealight+194&qid=1564144224&s=gateway&sr=8-6

I added those to mine ( great price, bright but not obnoxious on the inside and enough to do 2 cars). I was at the dealer the other day (free oil changes for 3 years) and the service lady was blown away at how nice they looked and was talking about how she doesn't understand why they just can't include LEDs stock.
Where did you add those LEDS to on your car interior? just the dome lights? Where else could you replace with?

I bought those thanks to this thread. I replaced the 2 map lights, the rear dome light and the trunk light. The OEM map lights weren't bad, but the trunk light was useless.

After reading through this thread and the HID vs LED thread I was really on the fence about which way to go to replace the halogens on my Si Coupe; I like the output and focus of the HID's but I didn't like the extra wiring and hardware needed to install them correctly.

Si@Vegas was kind enough to meet up with me for a few minutes last night so I could check out his car (great looking ride!) and he demonstrated each bulb (low, high and fog) and explained why he chose what he chose (this guy is awesome!).

After grilling him for info and seeing the output and color of his lights I have now added the exact same setup he has to my amazon shopping cart; bonus - I can replace all of my lights for less than the HID low beams.
Low Beam:
KATANA H11 H8 H9 LED Headlight Bulbs,CREE Chips 12000Lm 5090Lux 6500K Extremely Bright Conversion Kit,360 Degree Adjustable Beam Angle

High Beam:
TECHMAX Mini 9005 LED Headlight Bulbs,60W 10000Lm 4700Lux 6500K Cool White Extremely Bright 30mm Heatsink Base CREE Chips HB3 Conversion Kit(of 2)

FOG:
TECHMAX Mini H11 LED Headlight Bulbs,60W 10000Lm 4700Lux 6500K Cool White Extremely Bright 30mm Heatsink Base CREE Chips H8 H9 Conversion Kit(of 2)

Lastly, I know there are going to be some comments about how HIDs are better etc and I will just say this now to those that are going to say it; yep, you are right, I agree 100%. That being said, my eyes are still good enough to see just fine with these and they fit my budget and it's for MY car (not something everyone else is using), so if you don't like it then don't look at my car and focus on YOUR fancy headlights instead. ;)
When I install the HB3 high beam, the light itself is mostly upside down, but not completely vertical. Did you have to adjust it? I don't see a screw to allow for adjustment.

I did dome, map, and the trunk light. The trunk light is the only one i'm disappointed in, it still doesn't seem very bright. That said the stock bulb is so dim it's also useless. I'm thinking general the trunk light wasn't designed great so regardless of what bulb is in there it'll never illuminate properly.

I'm sure the LED is still better than what it originally came with. But that sounds like a good idea to me.

The light is upside down? Not sure I follow..
I would remove the bulb, see if it allows a slight rotation on the base (easier to see with the bulb removed) or consider installing the bulb in a different orientation if possible.
Sorry I don’t have better info for you. Hopefully someone else with those particular bulbs can chime in with some insight. As you will find in this thread, I ended up going a different / cheaper / fanless route for my bulbs.

LED performance is poor in rain and snow weather. HIDs are far superior in those applications. HIDs are far superior in all applications actually, but especially in poor weather.
any recommendation for hid

Some. It's a hatchback, so the light is on the side.

The instructions had pretty much "this side up" and it was almost 180 degrees opposite due to the the bulb location vs the tabs for the headlight assembly. I sent them back and got JDMaster bulbs.

I have the hatch, so the light is to the side instead of directly down, which is why it's awful on mine.
Sooo much better having the light in the middle. Oh well, still love the HB.
