Hello,
Brand new to the forum -- just looking for some feedback from those of you who know more than I do. I have a pretty good deal worked out on a new 2019 Hatchback Touring and am thinking, based on pricing, that I can get the 2020 Hatchback Sport for the same price since it is naturally a bit lower. Since the Sport has Android Auto, Fog Lights, LEDs, 18" rims, I am thinking it has pretty much everything I am after. What do you think -- are the "upgrades" in the 2020 worth going with it over a year older Touring? How are the headlights on the 19s? I've heard issues with the 18s but don't know if it has been corrected -- of course, I've only test driven during daylight hours...

Do you need a sunroof, lanewatch, leather, and navigation? If not, select 2020 Sport.

When they announced they were releasing the manual for sport tourings in 2020, I was ecstatic because I wanted everything in one package. That was until I saw the new sport comes with all the tech an EX or above has for a low price. Why spend $29k on a sport touring now when you can spend $23k on the sport, the LED headlights, leather, nav and xm, heated seats and sunroof arent worth $5k to me lol.

What about the better audio and headlights?
Those are nice to have also. Not sure if they're worth 5k more. Only the OP can decide.

Yeah I'm pretty much in the same boat. Either 2020 sport or 2020 ST

If it were truly a 5k difference, I think I would go with the 2020 Sport. Nobody wants to budge on the 2020s yet, so since I am making a choice rather soon, the 2019 ST is being fairly heavily discounted. I agree -- I don't think the heated seats and the moonroof are worth it and the Sport has all I truly want. In this scenario though, the price on both vehicles is the same, so I am leaning 2019 ST just to get the extras at no additional charge. IF I would still get a similar discount on the 2020 Sport, then sign me up.

IF there were major changes from 2019 to 2020 that were beneficial then maybe I'd consider the 2020, but it sounds like it is just a few exterior styling changes. Again, not sure if that is worth it.

2017-2020 ST pretty much stayed the same, other than some minor cosmetic updates, revised headlights, and addition of manual transmission (2020). Some sweet deals can be had on CPO ‘17, ‘18, or new ‘19 ST’s.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the 2019 ST. I think if I'm going to be driving this car for awhile I'd want the extra stuff such as the sunroof, seat warmers etc.

Given that the price is the same: count me as another vote for the 2019 Touring. I just don't think the 2020 brings enough to the table to outweigh the extras on the 2019. But I have a weakness for the goodies that come with the higher trim.

The interesting yet odd thing is that in the states the Sport costs 81% of the Touring (22,750 vs 28,050) (comparing both Manual versions). Yet in Canada it's 86% (25,890 vs 30,090) cost of Touring. The price gap is much closer here then over there. For me it was an obvious choice to go with the Touring given the smaller price gap, especially since I really wanted the Touring (and we also got the Manual in Canada in 2019).
I have to admit that if I were purchasing in the states, with the 2020 changes, I'de really think twice about going for the Touring, despite just how much I'de want to have the top trip. The added cost for the Touring in this case really isn't worth it for what you get in addition to the Sport from a value perspective.

Just to make things a bit more difficult, my local dealer has a 2020 Sport Touring with 6-Speed manual, Sonic Gray in stock. But I will be test driving a Sport CVT Sonic Gray this weekend. I can not drive sticks anymore due to an arm injury otherwise I would go for a stick Sport.

Honda Canada just updated their site with all the 2020 info, and I'm quite surprised by the pricing.
First of all, all models got a price bump. The Touring Manual (the model that I purchased) is now 31,390 instead of 30,090, which is a $1300 bump over last year.
But even more drastic, the Sport Manual is now 27,890 instead of 25,890, which is a $2000 bump. This brings the Sport even closer to the Touring here in Canada. It's now 89% (vs 86% for last year) of the cost of Touring model.

The gap, in terms of features, between the Sport and Touring models has been tightened, but so has the price. This makes sense, logically, however, it makes the Sport really that much less of a bargain now (if it ever was) here in Canada.
Which also goes to show that you guys really are getting a deal over in the states. :)

P.S. We also have to pay extra for White or Sonic Grey here in Canada. Uggghh!! :(
