Recently purchased a 2019 LX for the wife after her 04 with 165k was totaled. She loved the old one and loves the new one as well. My only issue so far with periodic driving, is that at my 6'2" height, the rear view mirror is placed so low due to the Sensing equipment I feel it is a bit unsafe. My view is blocked by the mirror, and constantly moving the manual seats up and down every time I get in is not going to be an option. Even at the lowest point of the seat I still feel the mirror is a bit too low.
Anyway, just thought I would share my solution for any other tall drivers that might be having the same problem. The mirror movement is limited due to the ball mount and crimp areas of the arm. I simply took off the mirror, and ground down about 30% of the metal behind the ball swivel and contoured the area to allow the crimp of the extension to move further and allowing more height to the mirror position. There is still plenty of metal there to hold things properly, and honestly, once the mirror is positioned, there is rarely a need for adjustment, especially for height.
In the first picture you can see how much material I removed, and the second you can see the marks from where it was at the stock location (red line) and how much more it now travels. The extra travel provides about another 1.5 inches or so of height to the mirror. It does not sound like much but it is enough to allow me to now visually see across the entire windshield without problems. The back of the mirror used to have quite a bit of room behind it when measured to the Sensing case. Now, I have about 1/4 inch or less between the back of the mirror and the Sensing box, just enough to allow me to flip the dim switch and flip the mirror upwards at night.
