The Si shits on the FiST in looks, performance, definitely RELIABILITY, handling, etc.

The Veloster N is a quick car but is about as reliable as the FiST.
Hmm, I came from two old BMWs and didn't have replace my condenser ($1000 out of pocket), didn't have gas in the oil, didn't have my dashboard shut off while driving, didn't have a shock fail at 20k miles. Reliability hasn't been a plus for this Honda.

Right now, I'll either be getting a 135i with M Sport package or the Si. These are the two cars I have it narrowed down to.
If you're not going to put a lot of mileage on the car, id almost say go for the 135i with the M package. That car has all the right makings for a fun sports car. Plus, you wont have to worry about reliability if you're doing minimal driving.

BMW are solid. I vouch for a used M240i with the B58B30 engine. Same engine in the new Supra/Z4 and looks to be promising reliability wise.

Over the months that I was test driving this spring/summer, I drove '19 FiSTs, SIs, Sport Hatches, a Veloster R Spec, a GTI, and a GLI,

I really thought the SIs were best for pure driving dynamics. Sharper and edgier than the VWs, though not as much horsepower. I thought the R Spec and FiST were in the same ballpark -- bare bones, cheap-feeling (in a good way!), and felt faster than they really were. They also have some "character flaws" -- lousy ride quality for the FiST, and the lack of on-center feel (and the torque vectoring not really doing much to remind you that the 201 HP was too much for the front end chassis tuning) with the R Spec.

The VWs were the best cars to drive once -- mature, Euro-composed, and great performers. But, everything I heard from mechanics and garage owners was that a GLI or GTI was a fun car to lease and a dumb car to buy. I was looking for a 10-year driver.

So I kept coming back to the SIs and the Sport Hatches. Hatch utility and lower price won me to the Sport.

It's a civic forum of course 90% will say the Si
People buy different cars for different reasons. I'm not asking what the better overall car is, which of course everyone would say Si to that. I just want to know if the steering and chassis is just as communicative. I don't see any reason why anyone would lie about that.
