Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the TLX has the same engine as the 9th gen Si except it comes in AT and has some additional comfort. So basically you have not strayed far from the flock

why is it becoming a pain in the ass to own?
aside from already mentioned, this car just requires too much care and attention to keep it in the condition I want it in. Plus I'm always tempted to floor it and destroy the speed limits. Already got my first speeding ticket in 18 years driving it. One more within 3 years and I'll be considered a high risk driver for insurance.
But the list of small annoyances, many of them talked on this forum adds up to the point where I'm no longer happy owning this Si

Hey, i know what I like and I stick with it haha

This is our second K24; my wife has a 2012 Accord and it's been great for us.

You being tempted to floor it is kind of a weird/lame excuse to get rid of the car if I'm being totally honest. Sounds to me like you just out grew the car and want something a little more sedate. Sounds like the Corrolla is a good choice for you, or maybe even a Prius, doesnt get more sedate than that.

As I said, the list of small annoyances, such as the cheap fabric Upholstery which is a magnet for skin marks and chipping paint etc etc can't be ignored. So it goes well beyond wanting to speed with it.
But really, I have absolutely no regrets with this new Corolla hatchback. It's the smartest decision I made in many years. The 2019 Corolla is an amazing car now, and definitely a step above the Si in quality and design. And really I couldn't give a damn about the Si's greater performance while living in a congested city with broken roads and speed limits...what's the point?

I think a lot of people who get rid of their Si's for a more boring/appliance type of vehicle will eventually miss their Si's.

I have been through that stage a few times before, and I always ended up going back to a Honda/sporty compact car.

Thankfully my IS 350 is Zero boring, it handles pretty much as well as my Si does and it's 306 HP 277 LBS torque V6 has instant response, of course I pay the price in it giving me 19 mpg, but I knew that. I will definitely consider buying a used 10th Gen a few years from now and mod the crap out of it, but as a daily driver, I'm sticking to comfort. But hey, I had a ton of fun

EDIT Yes, I do miss it

I go through it every few years:

1990 Accord Coupe EX 5spd (first car, 1999)
2005 Altima 3.5L 5spd (first new car I bought myself, 2005, totalled 2006)
2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro 6spd (first luxury car, 2008)
2017 Honda Civic Si 6spd

in between each of those cars has been various other automatics.

Probably by the time i get tired of this one, there will be no more manuals.

The Si is not for everyone or even Honda. Honda’s have always had a firmer ride, been noisier, allow more road feel through the brakes, steering etc.. Honda and Toyota have long been big rivals. Honda has always offered a sportier feel for the ones who enjoy driving. Toyota has always offered that numb and quiet driving experience for those that see a car as a means of getting from a to b. This has been true for years and imo still is. To each his own.

I’m sure you’re going to be happy with the Acura TLX
It still is a Honda product
Unlike a Toyota product ( just Joking amirza786 & captaindicki ) :)

I considered the Camry, but ultimately it felt really disconnected.

And as much as I liked the 17 Si, the 1990 Accord EX felt the most connected to the road and light on its feet. Something about it just felt visceral. I know in every metric the Si was better, but the old Accord felt better.

I like Toyota I was considering a corolla but I’m a coupe fan the civic is the only affordable coupe out there with a turbo. A coworker has a corolla and loves it the only sedan I would consider is the TLX

I've always had hondas.. Accord, CRX, Si's, Integra GSRs and an RSX-S. It's all prefs. I feel connected to the road and the driver enjoyment experience is great imho. In a perfect world I'd have an older lux sedan to cruise in and the Si for fun. But it doesn't make sense financially. I have other priorities in life. Maybe I'll switch it up next time. The IS350 is a nice car
