In the last few weeks, I have changed the oil and oil filter, brake fluid, transmission oil, engine and cabin air filters, and installed interior LED lights on my 2017 LX Hatchback. I am loving doing my own maintenance! It's so fun and I learn so much about how my car works! I'm only 20, and I can't wait to learn more when even more maintenance items come up (I'm looking at you, coolant flush!)

Filled up with gas in Vegas, drove to Phoenix, drove around here for 10 days, and it took 9.5 gallons to fill up. That is 40 mpg. Not bad.

Filled up with 93 octane Sunoco Ultra and paid $2.80 a gallon. Best price we've had in central Maryland in a while.

Just got my 27WON big brake kit fitted. Chose Signature Orange as I wanted to differentiate my Sport Hatch from the red of the CTR. Very pleased with build quality, aesthetics and operation. Excellent work 27WON!

Also fitted my Project Kits NeoChrome lug nut set that I picked up from Kamispeed on my recent Florida vacation. Thank you Saku and Josh - Great product and awesome customer service.

You already had to change the transmission oil?
Honestly? No. But I know it was coming up soon since in the service manual it says if you live in an area where your transmission runs hard you should change it every 25,000 miles. I looked at a thread talking about transmission oil changes and most people changed it around 30,000 miles. It is preventative maintenance after all; the earlier the better yeah?

Haven’t ever changed a transmission oil myself but I have seen a couple vids on different cars. How’d you rate the difficulty from 1-10(higher being easier)?

Considering that I am still a beginner (should I still say that with all the services I've done under my belt?) DIYer; I'd say around a 5? In truth, it isn't that different from changing the oil on your car. Other than raising the car on jack stands, with the support of a ramp thankfully, the only other hardest part was actually getting the transmission oil pan bolt off. That thing SUCKS because it's an ugly thing to grab onto with a long breaker bar underneath your car. I would definitely check out the thread about changing your transmission oil for more info if you are interested.
