Agreed. Unscrewing the can, dumping it, cleaning it and replacing takes all of about 3 minutes total with no tools needed. Easy peezy.

Thanks guys. Just ordered the Radium dual catch can kit. Skipped the petcock drain.

Found a couple YouTube Radium install videos. Looks like a quality product.

I had one. It collected about an inch worth of mostly condensation and a little oil mix over 10k miles. Its also a source point for potential vacuum/boost leaks. I removed it one day when the baffle started rattling. Shortly after the MAPERFORMANCE thread on the pcv and valve cover design not needing a can came out and I never reinstalled it.

CTR with no mods. I have the Mishimoto, because I felt it would be well made, which it is. I like the matching of the cosmetics to the engine compartment and the molded hoses are a perfect fit. Easy to install and well-located. I empty it about every 30 days when I do my normal tire pressure check, and get about 1/16" or less of carbonized oil, just enough to wipe out with a paper towel, better there than back into the engine. It does have a threaded boss for a petcock, but where it mounts it's easy to just unscrew the can with a hand underneath it and put it back on. I did have a minor rattle at low rpm, but solved that by putting foam tape behind the bracket as recommended by others.

How exactly do you unscrew it; simply by hand or loosen the 3 Allen screws on top? I found out today it looks like the dealer installed one on my 2019 SI sedan. LOL.

I believe the bottom half of the canister simply unscrews. Then you can inspect and empty it.

The ones that unscrew have a very fine thread, and they can easily seize up, making it difficult to unscrew them.
A small smearing of "Super Lube Synthetic Grease" (or similar) on the threads makes it a lot easier to unscrew when needed.

Yep, just unscrew the bottom portion by hand. It does have fine threads, so I run a wet rag over them to keep any contaminants out, then screw back on carefully as to not not cross thread.

That is why I come to the forum; would never know that on something I did not install. Thanks for the tips guys!

Again, thank you Akuto and Lust for the recommendations...Radium dual catch cans are now installed without the petcock drain. The PCV catch can was a snap...CCV was a bit more involved. Interested to see how much will be caught in the CCV.

Technically, we require two catch cans, the PCV and the CCV, (PCV being in the rear of the engine bay and CCV being in the front).

As of what I know, Radium has both PCV and CCV catch cans available (I'm sure there are other companies out there with both PCV and CCV, I just have my eyes on the radium ones)

here is the total amount of oil caught in the Radium CCV oil catch can... Nada, zero. Thinking this was a useless mod, unless I somehow have it routed incorrectly. Has anyone collected anything in the CCV oil catch can? If so please lmk.

The Radium PCV oil catch can is collecting gobs of oil in comparison.

Checked the PCV can today. About 2 months accumulation. Have collected double this amount during the 5k miles it’s been installed.

I am thinking to buy the dual as well.. but seeing you have zero oil catch in ccv can.. i am thinking twice now.

Thanks for sharing
