Before you apply the cquartz do i have to clay bar the car? Relatively new to detailing just know some of the basics
you should do everything to make the paint squeaky clean to ensure good bonding and longevity.

iron decontimanation
clay bar
polish
ipa wipe (i personally use carpro eraser)

and then coat the car.

I think 75% of the cost of a good ceramic coating at a detail shop is the amount of time they spend prepping the surface..
You want it as perfect as possible before applying the ceramic coating. This is why I'm too lazy to do it myself.

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Lite topped with Gtechniq Exo V4 here. Super easy to use. Applied over a year ago and still going strong. The MOST important step is prepping your paint first. Make sure it is free of all old wax/sealants and any polishing residue.

Luxury Microfiber has a ceramic coating that is stupid easy to use, called DPC Shield. Great bang for your buck too. I put 2 coats on my Titan wheels recently.

I have used Optimum glosscoat and am very happy with its performance.

Can someone post a link of czquarts? Love the good reviews was planning on having a mobile detailer do it but i feel like taking the challenge
I wouldn't use a mobile detailer to check my tire pressure let alone detail my car

I've heard superb things about C Quartz, especially their finest reserve which can be pricey.

Other options, gtechniq, giyeon, Halo Flex (great for cars with Paint Protection Film aka PPF)

Cquartz you see people mention often and second probably Gtechniq. Like the other guy said, most time consuming part is paint prep.

-Iron Decontamination
-Clay Bar w/ detail spray
-Polish
-wipe down with some kind of paint prep(carpro eraser?rust-o-leum?IPA?)

You claybar with detailing spray which have oil/silicone/wax or whatever in them and so does car polish. Seem so difficult to get the paint as they say in the detail world "virgin".

I would definitely add my voice to those who said make sure to detail your paint thoroughly. Otherwise you’re just locking in any paint defects. I just got an email from Chemical Guys about their ceramic coating so I guess it’s new.

I opted for Avalon King after watching a bunch of YouTube videos and will be tackling this project this weekend. I’m kind of excited to see how it works out, seems like the prep work is the hardest/longest process of the whole project so if I take my time and do it right it should be a piece of cake applying the ceramic coating.

also make sure you work on small sections at a time. When yuo miss a high spot during the wipe off, it becomes a pain.

My brand new White FK8 is with the detailer as we speak, he needs the car 3 days & was very insistent the Dealer didn't wash the car.
Very strange picking up a dirty brand new car complete with all its stickers & protective plastic.
He is a qualified GTechniq installer & is using Crystal Serum Ultra topped with Exo (9 year guarantee!)
Also having the Wheels done inside & out plus the Callipers.

Let me know how it turns out and how long it takes you to complete it.
