I am looking to purchase a ceramic coating to apply to my CTR myself. Currently I am considering either Avalon King or The Chemical Guys. Does anyone have any experience with either of these brands? I would also like to know what you used on your car and whether you have been happy with it so far.

I usually see people using Cquartz when I see DIY post/videos. I never had ceramic coating done(maybe one day DIY project) but did install PPF by myself for the first time on the R.

I had Cquartz Finest Reserve put on my Z06 and after 2 years I dropped by a different detailer and they asked what ceramic I had because they said it's the best they've seen... AFTER 2 YEARS!

I think the finest reserve is only sold to their installers but I'm assuming the regular cquartz ceramic quality must be high also because everything from CarPro is very high quality.

Anything from Kamikaze is easy to apply and is a great coating. I went with their Zipang coat

Thanks for the info. I had not heard of this brand until today but it seems to have good reviews online. I might just have to give it a try.

Definitely get cquartz uk 3.0 preferably

Here’s a cool YouTube channel that does realistic tests (leaves outside) to see how long some ceramic coats last. In the video I linked cquartz still going strong after 1 year 8 months

Cquartz UK 3.0 takes my vote.

although, I recently bought and tried Cquartz Lite on my daily driver and have been pretty happy with it but can't comment on the longevity since it hasn't been out that long. It's a lot more user friendly with no flashing time and stuff but won't last as long as the UK 3.0

Don't bother with any of the Chemical guys ceramic stuff.

Once ceramic coated, use a good pH neutral soap and deionized water rinse!

My favorite soap - Americana Globap Ceramic Aftercare soap.
Water deionizer - CR Spotless DI120 is the cheapest.

To give full disclosure, I do sell both on the website, on Amazon, and on Ebay.

Its recommended to paint correct, the whole 9 yards before ceramic coating as its a permanent layer added to the clear coat. This is the main reason why I havent tackle this DIY. Never used a polisher and compounds in my life. Been watching car detailing guide from "Dallas Paint Correction" & "Pan The Organizer" on youtube helps a bunch.
