I've done my share of complaining about Honda in general, and a few dealerships specifically, 98 percent of it legitimate of course, but my uncle has a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica.
Well,it's had three recalls already, and last week , the special battery that controls his van turning on and off when he stops at lights and stuff just died.
He immediately took it to the dealer,on a Thursday this was,and they proceeded to tell him, we can't guarantee your car will run, and we can't get your battery till Monday.
They then tell him that Chrysler doesn't do loaner cars and want him to pay over a hundred bucks to rent a car from Enterprise.
I don't know if this is common with other brands but,its just ridiculous.
I've been a day without a car, but never that long, Honda has at least always set me up with a loaner.

Every dealer that I deal with gave a loner. Hell when a exgirlfriend of mine bought a used car at a used car lot when she had problems with it they gave her a loner

That’s bullshit. I had a crap Jeep (sadly), and they had to hold my lousy piece of shit overnight. I got a loaner.

Especially for something warranty related.

Honda dealers are just as shitty as any other. This is coming from many years of experience with these fucks.

Also, Honda of America is just as awful. Trying to get Honda to warranty major repairs is like attempting to eat chipoltle without getting runny shits the next day.

This did seem strange to me. I had to have some things fixed on my HB under warranty. They gladly fixed the issues, but never offered me a loaner. Most they did was offer to call me an uber back home (but no way back to the dealership).

By contrast, any time I brought my MINI in, they ALWAYS offered me a loaner regardless of the amount of time they'd be holding my car. The MINI was expensive to maintain, but their service always made me feel good and valued. Whereas my civic never really has issues, but the dealership tends to not be the nicest or most courteous.

My Honda dealer is awesome! Dean Honda in Pittsburgh. I have bought 3 Honda's from them, great service whenever the car needs worked on. I remember once when I had my CR-Z in for a recall they gave me a loaner, they gave me a mini-van. I almost turned it down saying id rather wait but caved when they said it would take 6+ hours :-(

Worst dealers I've ever worked with.. Both Honda, and both in metro Philly: Scott Honda in West Chester and Roberts Honda in Downington. (Roberts is owned by the Toll Brothers - yes - those guys who build the ugly McMansions).

Both of these dealers have tried to get me to pay for warranty repairs.

Roberts: The service advisor gives me paperwork to give to the cashier. She says, "that will be $250 (for example)", and I tell her that it's a warranty repair. The scam continues - she tries to call the service advisor who isn't available or has "left for the day", and then tells me she can't give me my key until I pay.

Scott: They ask my wife on the phone if I'd also like a brake fluid flush. I say yes, the car has about 20K miles, and it's legit. I show up and they charge me for a 20K "service". They didn't do anything but the brake fluid flush and spray-lubricated the doors. All for $600. It took me time, but I managed only to pay for the brake fluid change.

I also drive BMWs. One BMW dealer is horrible, but they've never tried to steal my money (they have a stupid nose-in-the-air attitude about themselves).

Scott Honda is the third dealership I've had to try and use. They haven't tried to rip me off so far and they've been a lot better than the other two here in Delaware, but their communication sucks, and after five trips there, even though they have tried, still haven't fixed my issues

Right Honda in Scottsdale has actually been fine on service so far. I have had no major issues, but they took care of minor ones quickly and correctly. ( brake caliper out of spec
causing noise). Also swapped a battery free under warranty that was out of spec, that I didn't even know about. And could have stranded me, In AZ. In the summer.
Also, when someone walked by and knocked my driver side mirror cover off, leaving it on my hood, I drove it to the dealer and a Honda tech came out and was able to
get it back on - I would have just damaged it trying - and charged me - nothing.

So some Honda dealer service departments are actually okay.

Can't comment on their loaner policy - have not had to leave it overnight.
They did not offer me a loaner for a major service that took a few hours, but they
did offer to drop me somewhere - and pick me up, which I took advantage of.

Pauly Honda in Libertyville will give you a local ride, but don't offer loaners. The porter told me they have had people abuse them.
"and then tells me she can't give me my key until I pay."
I always bring my extra key just in case there is a dispute like this.

Any dealers you would recommend in the Philly area? I bought my 2007 and 2019 from Piazza Pottstown (Limerick) and Piazza Philadelphia. I think I got my first oil change on the 2007 at Piazza bc it was free and was fortunate to never really need service at the dealer again.

I leased a 2019 last month and I’m hoping for another no-issue car but I know things happen and it would be nice to skip any trouble dealers.

Oddly enough I work within walking distance of Scott Honda, almost bought there but decided on silver or white.

Any experiences with other southeast PA dealers. I replied to the comment above and you seem to be in the same general area as me.

Thanks!
