Understood. Just glad to see progress being made.
I was responding to gtman who seems to be laughing at how "poor" it looks. This is probably just for test fitment and seeing what clearance issues they're going to be running into.

You totally missed the gist of my post. It was a joke. I was referring to how phallic the pipe looked in the pics and joking about Matt saying the pics had him "excited".:cool:

I totally understand they are prototypes and 27Won does good stuff.

Sheesh.

With the increased airflow, would we need a custom tune to follow up the increased airflow such as when using a bigger maf?
More than likely yes.

I was looking around the net for some info on other car types that may have done this type of modification and measured the results. Look at this test ~~~> Test #2 Turbo Inlet
Look at the inside diameter, where it was increased, how much it was increased and the horsepower/torque gained and where they were gained at. Interesting stuff.

@Barett@27WON I thought you'd find this interesting.
BTW: I'm the guy that called you about your prototype and told ya'll I'd purchase it if you decide to scrap the project due to ???Insert Reason Here??? . I meant that too. This is the last piece pre-throttle body that I want to change that is getting under my skin. Thanks again for starting this, despite how long it may take.

Turbo Inlet - 2.jpg

Welp, I'm bored and am out of modifications to do to my Civic.....with the exception of this and one other that hasn't been done yet by anyone. Sigh!
So why not add even more fuel to the fire eh?

Here's a post where Perrin added their turbo inlet pipe to an STi.
Perrin Turbo Inlet Pipe

The results? An increase of 100ft-lbs of torque down low and 10hp up top. **See below and read article**

This ain't a Subaru I know (I love Subarus btw: I still own two). Just showing what this modification has done on other platforms to keep ya'll juices flowing. :p

BTW: I see a horsepower coincidence between the two. :hmm:

@Myx thanks for sharing that.
You are most certainly welcome. There was a part of the article that I found particularly interesting that you may want to consider into your project. This here....
The PERRIN inlet hose used here is the newest version of one of our best selling parts ever. The biggest change to our turbo inlet hose is the new skeleton. Our past hoses were all constructed the same, where the multiple layers of silicone and polyester to create a stiff hose that would hold up to intake vacuum. There was a huge "Internet" issue where a few people had a hose collapse on them during high HP runs. The issue was due to the silicone not being cured long enough and the introduction of engine oil to the hose which softened it. To this day, roughly ten out of thousands of parts were returned to us with the collapsing issue. While this was a very small issue to us, it was publicly exploited on the Internet and made out to be a much bigger problem that it really was.

To remedy this problem and ensure that ZERO hoses got returned for collapsing, we added a a skeleton to support the hose. We added a stainless steel wires through the middle of all the layers of silicone, which adds more than enough support to eliminate the hose collapsing. Over time we have done other minor tweaks to make the hose easier to install or better performing. All these changes will make an already great part even better and with ZERO change in price.

Want to bring this out in the open so you are not in a position of 're-inventing the wheel'. We keep reading of people trying to get more and more hp out of their engines. Would hate to see a great part overshadowed by a few or even one customer complaining of a collapsed turbo inlet hose. A 'cheaper' version could simply be a silicon hose while those with your 27Won turbo (Or PRL turbo, etc) can opt for the more expensive turbo inlet pipe with an exoskeleton. Heads up!

And of course I put in italics that it was one of their best selling parts ever. $$$$ :thumbsup:

@Vincent@27WON I am looking at Dozuki now and do not see the installation instructions. While I am waiting for my shipment, I would like to study up on the install steps. When will the instructions be accessible?
