So I've been tinkering with the ideas of brembo brake upgrades. Today I've confirmed some details. First, this kit still requires slight modification. Second, like most of all other bolt on brand bbk options, wheels must use spacers for clearance or upgraded wheels with aggressive offset.

With that being said, I'll be doing a youtube video of my finished setup upon final installation. Which includes being powder coated and SS braided brake lines. Do me the favor and follow/subscribe to my channel:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIN82zWQqTTB6eSkGG57oZg

SO, I purchased brembo brake calipers from Autozone for test fit. Calipers come from 2006 Acura TL Type S. The factory knuckles need to be drilled one size larger in order for the caliper bolts to fit. However, the calipers bolt locations are the same as the factory si.

The brembo calipers are approximately 1/4 thicker than the factory si brackets, which means i still need to find a rotor that is offset such width. Im guessing that the S2000 rotors or Acura TL rotors may fit, but I haven't ordered them quite yet. This mod has been done on 8th gen and 9th gen si's with similar results. So Im using their suggestive equipment accordingly with assumption that our knuckles and offsets are similar in size.

Im guessing ill be able to put together a bbk for under $500 if I can source the correct fitted parts which includes the following:

Acura TL Brembo Brake Calipers (pair): $120 on ebay
Offset Brake Rotors (pair): $120 To be announced
Custom SS braided brake lines (pair): $120 made locally
Acura TL Brembo Brake Pads (pair): $50.36 amazon

total cost (approximately): $410.36

I'll keep updates as I gather more parts for fitment.

Why not just do the Hyundai/Nissan Caliper -Rotor combo, it bolts up with no modifications (and 20mm wheel spacers). I have this setup on my car, it has been great.

How much did the whole thing cost? Id be interested if it's about the same (or less) than the OP's

Dont think they will clear my wheels. I have 18x8.5 et 45.

I may need a 35 for it to work?

I didn't know this was even an option. I'll seriously consider this, because the TL Brembos needs drilling to the knuckle to fit.

What year and model hyundai calipers?

This is awesome but it would be great to have some part numbers and details. So we don't go searching for hours and possibly end up with wrong parts.

I was wondering why you guys didn't just source the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Front Brembo calipers already - any year. The fronts will mount up to the original mounting points without any modifications, but it is recommended to trim the shield slightly. Rotors are Fronts from a Nissan Rogue with 3rd row seating - any year applicable. Standard Brembo Pads (P54039N) pads, or any aftermarket equivalent that fits the Genesis calipers will work.

I also added Mercedes AMG Dot4 fluid because it's effective yet inexpensive, and Goodridge SS Lines meant for the Civic Si Front + Rear will also mate up to the Front Brembo calipers. Minus the SS Lines at the rear, my pads and rotors are still original with 38k km. I'll change those out for new rotors and Type R pads in the future when needing replacement.

BUT.....the fine print is that wheel fitment becomes a pain because these Calipers are massive. 27won's and other 330mm kits sit higher over the hub as new adapters are included which gives them more clearance from the hub and spokes of the wheels. The Brembo calipers are over an inch wider than stock calipers and same mounting points so you need wheels that are more flat-face for better clearance. I've added pictures of my friend running the same setup on his Si with 18x8.5 +40 RPF1 having plenty of clearance because flat spokes + longer, straight hub. I didn't clear with my Konig Freeform 18x8.5 +35 due to a concave wheel design with a shorter hub, and even adding a 5mm spacer gave me just bare clearance that you see in the picture.

SlickFab is the man to trust for the Genesis BBK: http://slickfabllc-com.3dcartstores.com/Brembo-Big-Brake-Upgrades_p_28.html

If you want a no-hassle superior BBK that will allow for greater wheel selection, go 27won: https://store.27won.com/honda-civic-big-brake-kit-10thgen.html

This is exactly what I was trying to achieve with the Acura TL brembos. They're just waaaay cheaper for the TL. Awesome break down! I wonder what other vehicle rotor options work. Id like slotted.

Is SlickFab front and rear or just front? I spec out a kit with him at $795 which isn't bad for both. Also did you just run the Rogue stock rotor or did you find any upgraded performance options?
Fronts only, nothing for the rear as it's an E-brake. I got a stock Nissan Rogue (with 3rd row) rotor. R1Concept Brakes has a Slotted option available for the application. Just on its own its such a huge upgrade over factory brakes

Do you know if the stock 18" SI/ Sport rims will fit with this brake kit?

This is the post everyone needs to see before jumping into bolting a Brembo kit from another vehicle to their car. Good information and well written.
