Hello all,

I am currently in the market for new wheels and need some advice. I have a Honda Civic 2016 EX 4 door sedan 2.0L with stock height and stock brakes. Probably won't plan on lowering the car until later on in the future (maybe, or not lower at all). I am trying to see which one would fit for now with no rub/pull on fenders and make the gap less noticeable. I live in OC if that matters.

  1. Should I run 18x8.5 +35 or 18x9.5 +35? (square)

  2. What tire size should I run? 225/40?

  3. Would this affect my car in any way if I run this setup since I have 16x7 wheels right now?
Sorry it is a lot to ask and thank you for anyone who can help share some knowledge. This is my first post in this group and this is a big purchase for me so I'd like to do it right.

Either one of those sizes will fit. Tire wise, if you’re gonna do an 8.5 then 235/40 would be fine and if you are gonna do 9.5 then 255/35 is better. But a 235/40 can fit in an 9.5 but it will have more of a stretched looked. Since you’re stock height you won’t have any issues. I’m running 18x8 +25 offset and I’m lowered on d2 springs and I don’t rub at all.

On the 9.5 a 235 will cause minor rub going up inclines or bumps if you're lowered.
The 8.5 will be less aggressive and you can fit a 235 40 18 no issues.

Thank you for your knowledge, I think I'll be running 8.5 with 235/40!

Thank you! I'll prob stick with the 8.5 just to be safe.

Actually another question, would running 18x8.5 with 225/40/18 be fine as well? (Firestone hawk Indy 500 XL tires)

Yeah those will fit. It will be on the meatier side but you should be fine especially at stock height.

I’d probably go with the 245. You’ll have a stretched look with the 235s. Eibachs are what a lot of people are running. They give a slight drop. If you want the most drop go with D2.

most likely not if you with a 245/35 tire. im currently running 255/35s on my work wheels and im dropped 2 inches all around and i don't rub. I did pull and roll my fenders but with eibachs you wont have to worry about that.
