You aren't understanding what I'm saying...define "defective clutch" I'm a shop owner and master mechanic. From the symptoms the OP was describing it sounds like the pressure plate wasn't fully disengaging the clutch disc making shifting extremely difficult. The next step is to find out why this is happening. There might be a need for an adjustable throw out bearing. Check the stack height of the assembled clutch/pressure plate assembly and compare it to the original setup. Measure from the mating surface on the block where the transmission mates up to the flats on the fingers of the pressure plate where the throw out bearing presses. This measurement should point you in the right direction to solve the issue. This is something that should be checked on any replacement clutch, and more so on aftermarket replacements. I have to do this frequently on cars that convert to dual and triple disk clutch setups.Defective clutch. OP already stated that the fluid was bled.
OP just return the clutch to the seller and get a letter from the shop stating that they are SAE certified and that the job was done correctly.
