I adjusted the rod on my CMC and it shifts infinitely better now. At least for me.

I have a 2019 CTR with 735 miles. I’m on my 20th or so grind. So I did the adjustment of the rod but no different. I get the 1 to 2 grind every time I drive the car. I fully regret buying this car and if I could get a refund I would never look back. I can’t imagine the ordeal that I have to go through with the dealer to rectify this situation.

If yours is happening that often you should be able to go the Lemon Law route if Honda offers no fix. Mine is not nearly that bad, but overall it is quite disappointing and Honda's lack of any way forward is very disheartening.

I wish mine grinded every drive. It would be easy for the dealer to replicate and give me a new transmission.
Don't regret buying the car. Just take it in for a new transmission and be on your way. It won't be that bad.

I do love the car but this grind occurring so early just kills me. I blame it on driver error in the beginning but now it is obvious that there a underlying problem here. Thanks for encouraging words. Have a service appointment at the dealer that I purchased it. They said that they would provide a loaner but I don’t believe them

should you try readjusting the clutch pedal one more time b4 bringing it in? No harm if it doesn't work.

should I go further with adjusting the rod. I turned the rod clockwise until I felt some resistance. Should I go a little more????

No, find the resistance and then back off about an 1/8th of a turn.

Full disclosure, I have had a few chunky crunchy shifts since adjusting the rod but far less frequently than before. If I had to guess, I'd say it's ~70-80% better. I suspect there are some faulty transmissions but I think it's mostly slightly misadjusted clutches. Just my speculation from my experience.

Z06Chris, I suspect you are one of the folks with a faulty transmission not unadjusted though I could be wrong. My crunches sound nothing like your grinds.

You can probably benefit from another quarter or half turn. Can you take a picture that shows where your clutch pedal sits in relation to your brake pedal? I’m curious to see how much throw you have

I’m little bit past the resistance point. Currently no play at all.
Looks like you should have enough throw. Double check the slave cylinder and see if you can push it with your hand.

Took it in twice for it.. But the odds of it happening on their 2 mile test drive is so slim that I get a "can not replicate"....
So at the end of the day I just have videos and no fix.

My main concern right now is that I want to mod.. A lot.. I worry with full bolt ons and hondata that they'll start pointing fingers at mods to avoid paying for a fix out of their pockets.

Master tech at a dealership near my work rode with me a few days ago. I showed him my 4 grind videos I had with clear audio. All normal shifts. Not even aggressive driving. He's going to ask the Honda field rep if I can get a new 2nd gear set.
If that means them taking apart your transmission and putting it back together, I’d be very careful with that. When I went through this fiasco with my car, they tried to do this and it only got worse. It stopped grinding in 2nd, but grinded every single time going into 5th and 6th gears no matter what I did. That may be what you want though if you’re trying to get a complete replacement; they ended up doing a whole new transmission, clutch, etc. on mine.
