How do you wash your Civic?

I would think it depends on how hard your water is but even after I sprayed my car with pure water (distilled) I still got water spots with the water just sitting there. Only way I have found in my routine is to get the water off the panel as soon as you can either with a towel or blow drying it with a leaf blower. I would see what the other detailers are doing on youtube then test it in your area to see how it works for you.

Because I watched a video of a guy washing his car with this filter system and the water can dry but there is no spots. I wonder if that inline filter works as good as this one does https://www.amazon.com/CR-Spotless-DIC-20-Motorcycles-Water/dp/B072FJTX8X

Well when it’s cool outside I wash mine but when it’s hot like 100+ I go to the touchless car wash.

If you use pressure wash, be careful when you spray around the lights.

Once I went to a local coin wash. The pressure wash was very, very strong and not knowing better, the sprayed my whole car with it. Somehow the water broke the seals about the rear light assemblies. I ended up with condensations inside both lens which would not go away.

Step 1: do a rain dance.
Step 2: pour a foam/soap solution to car.
Step 3: sing in karaoke to get the rain to really start pouring.


Seriously though, I used to just let the car care/wash service clean (interior/exterior) and wax (hybrid ceramic wax) it for me every month. Recently, i bought myself this pressure washer and that pink CG foam soap, and have been trying to wash / wax the car myself every 2 to 3 weeks. And plan to just bring to the car wash every 2-3 months. Am only 2 months into this routine and am seriously considering going back to the old routine

I only wash every few weeks but I completely gave up on DIY places as their water is crap. I have excellent well water and a water softener so it is even better.

1. Power sprayer to prerinse and wet
2. Foam
3. Rinse (Power)
4. Hand Wash with microfiber mit
5. Rinse (Power)
6. Towel dry in the garage
7. Hydrosilex Tire Shine

Soap of choice is Chemical Bros
Detailing spray - Mothers
Current "wax" - Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic.

I picked up some nasty brush swirl at some point (Well, not really THAT nasty). Planning to get a DA buffer and start perfecting a new skill on the older ride and my parents Ridgeline and then apply it to some paint correction on the Civic in the spring. Then STRICTLY staying away from all car wash places.

Got this delivered today, will be washing tomorrow, cant wait!

I'm sorry but years of bar tending to put myself through college, this does not sound like pleasant smell. If I were to use it all I could think about is wading around in beer puddles on $1 beer night just off of a college campus.

Beer scent?

Wouldn't a better combination be washing the car with normal smelling soap and having an ice cold beer handy?

Best way is to just sit inside your Cvic and relax while someone else does it

I just run it thru the car wash every couple of weeks and hit it with some wax and try to keep the interior as clean as possible . I live in an apartment so no way I could wash it there.

I use chemical guys all the way!

Depends on my mood, and whether I feel like blowing the paint off the car. Tis a rite of passage with my rides, I always blow a bit of paint (the size of a pencil eraser) off the front bumper even with the gentle nozzle. Did it on my Golf R, on my GMC Sierra, and now the Si. There's one local car-wish I trust which always does a great job. I do like to do it myself though, its a great opportunity to closely inspect the car.
Normally I'll do a quick rinse, then run some <insert brand here> carnuba car wash soap over it, give it a good scrub with hand towels, then rinse, and finally wax. I use this 'spray and wax' stuff from Meguiars which does an excellent job. NEV R DULL for the HDMI port and wheels if necessary.

Yeah it’s a daily driver. No one notices swirl marks. In 10 years guess what’s its still just a civic, it’s never gonna be some show piece
