there is a engagement adjustment under the pedal.
i went through this too when i did my cm300.
just a couple twist of the nut and your good.
too bad you need to be an acrobat to get in there.
This was already adjusted as much as possible. Still experiencing the same issue.

I mean, the pedal feels “normal”. Lot more weighty, which to be expected.

It feels like it engages about 5 inches off the ground.

That does not seem as bad as I was expecting, definitely lower that OEM but it is a little subjective, without feeling it myself it is hard to say, I would still be leaning towards a duff pressure plate.

I’ve contacted MAPerformance, who is contacting spec. At this point, If determined a clutch component, spec lost my business.

If not, and they state I need to buy an additional component, I’m double out as I feel this is awful business practices. Just found this post on the forum as I was digging here. What are your thoughts on this?

The 5 inches is just an estimate. I can tell you it CLEARLY feels much much lower to the ground when it engages and when in gear coasting, there was a very subtle grinding noise that was not present before, almost like it hadn’t fully engaged? Hard to say here, but very frustrating. It’s been about 2 weeks now without my car.

If it needs a modified CMC they should be upfront and state that before purchasing.

Was it a 3 in 1 clutch kit or individual components?

Return that clutch while you can.
You will keep grinding gears and wear out your synchos.
Eventually it will get so bad that you will not be able to shift with this clutch.
When you put a new non-defective clutch everything will work 100% without modifying any parts such as master and slave cylinders.

Either the clutch disc is installed backwards, pressure plate not torqued properly or a throw out bearing issue....possibly not enough travel to fully disengage the clutch disc.

Defective clutch. OP already stated that the fluid was bled.
OP just return the clutch to the seller and get a letter from the shop stating that they are SAE certified and that the job was done correctly.

Just queries, will the factory clutch not stand up ? And how many miles on your car ?

No, I was actually having issues shifting into second, and it would pop out, etc. I still have warranty, so they replaced the fork, synchro and a couple other things. It now goes into second no problem every time. When the car is off it shifts in every gear smooth as ever.

While they were in the transmission again (already turned down a clutch upgrade once) they offered to install the clutch for an hour of labor and I said yes as it seemed like a great way to save and upgrade my clutch. I have 40k miles on the car and they said the clutch was in fine shape today when I went to discuss options of replacing this new spec one or going back to one.

Seems like I made a mistake trying to “upgrade” here.

I did get my brake fluid replaced and while doing so upgraded to SS brake lines. Look forward to seeing the difference there.

Already touched base with MAPerformance and they’re reaching out to spec before fully processing a return. Frustrating to me at this point, but I guess that’s the way it goes?

This is something that should have quicker turn around time. They need to get on their horses and you need to pressure them immediately..

I am a patient consumer but when you spend this kind of money, there need to have immediate answers. You are not their R&D Team.

This is great to know , I completely understand upgrading while in there. Good to know the factory clutch was still in great shape after 40k miles. S2000’s are very similar, stick with oem Honda parts & things will last. Sorry for your troubles
