Why do I have to have acceptance issues if I don't like the wing? I'd rather not have a car that screams look at me whereas I like the rest of the car. It either looks good (the front) or is more tolerable (rear) with the spoiler and new updates.

As someone who would use this as a daily driver with autocross duty (I'm in Dallas like you and am not keen on driving all the way to Cresson for a track) I'd happily trade the aerodynamic benefits of the wing at high speed for a more amenable appearance.

I'm literally waiting for the 2020 announcement before I decide on a new car purchase. This updated car is my first choice and if it ends up being nothing more than a rumor I'm not sure what my second choice would be.
I wasn’t talking to you, I was talking about someone else who literally said they’re embarrassed. A subjective opinion is different than being embarrassed because of a wing.

As for a watered down R it’s pathetic IMO. The Type R has always been a streetable race car and performance cars are always about function over form. The car doesn’t feel as planted without the wing and the turn in will be impacted by the taller sidewall and smaller wheels. Don’t like the package then buy a Si of a Golf R I’m not a fan of diluting the car to appease the whiners. The Type R has an amazing history that’s stayed true and I think it should continue to do so.

100% agree mate, but Honda need to make money. Type r is not selling well in the uk (and I guess Europe as a whole) and the uk loves a hot hatch, so for the sake of future type r development, if a toned down one gets more sales than I am ok with it. (I can imagine the original project team saying "fcuk em!" though and having no part of it).

We literally have no idea what if any changes are coming and y’all already bickering about what it means and the horror of diluting the nameplate.

My opinion is the Si Sedan sleek sexy look took into the design of the 2020 CTR.....The Taller rear spoiler blocks the blind spot on the CTR...The Sedan Si didnt have that problem.....Honda just making more:dance:
I can’t see my spoiler at all. Not sure how you are saying it blocks anything.

The wing is cool....
Maybe you can get a sport or Si?

So because I don't want the wing I'm relegated to 100 less hp? Not sure why that has to be the case especially when I'm sure there is a market for this car.

I've been a huge fan of the type r, from its amazing suspension setup to combination of performance and everyday usability. I wouldn't buy the car stock and remove the wing but if honda does release this I'll be a customer. I guess we'll find out soon hopefully.

Feel like I’m the only one who loves the giant wing. Not crazy about the rubber band tires that will change soon as I can make a decision.

I hope you don't get either of those actual wheels for the CTR. They won't fit. The offset is way too low and the bolt pattern is wrong.
