Hey guys, I have a 1.5L Turbo Honda Civic Hatchback Sport and I originally was going to get a full exhaust system and tune it for power but after doing some research i've come across some other options. What do you guys think of a muffler delete plus a catless downpipe? Ive noticed, purely from watching videos, that the stock midpipe and frontpipe dont have anything in them aside from a resonator (which comes on most full systems anyway). Hence my theory of getting the same full system air flow with just a muffler delete and a catless downpipe. Opinions? Anybody have experience with the two? Thank you so much!

I recall reading that the stock exhaust flows pretty well stock so if you're looking for a change of tone I'd go muffler delete. If you're looking for power catless dp. Be warned though, I'm pretty sure the catless dp and muffler delete makes the car sound like a bag of assholes. And For what it's worth, I've seen a ton of people go full exhaust only to revert it 4 or so months later because it sounds like shit and drones really bad.

I've recently put the Borla S-Type Exhaust on my hatch and I love it! There is a drone between 2200-2600 RPM, but it's not unbearable and I actually enjoy the sound. For me, this exhaust is how the car should sound stock. It's a sport version of the car, why would it be so quiet?

Here's a vid of my exhaust (cold start I think):

I think 27won made a pretty good sounding exhaust for your HB. https://store.27won.com/civic-hatchback-sport-front-pipe-back-exhaust.html
If I had a hatch, this is deff the route I would take. You are not going to get any increase in power but the sound will be as good as your car can sound... The Borla in the above post sounds pretty good too.
I dont personally think going catless is worth it. It makes the car sound like raspy old lady and does not give enough extra power to be worth it. Get a good quality catted DP with the exhaust system.
My opinion.

If you are modifying for power (with the stock turbo), then I recommend ONLY changing out the downpipe for a catted one. Keep the rest of the exhaust stock. I've found no additional power changing out the front pipe and rest of the exhaust up to the mufflers.

PRL has a dyno graph on their website for their front pipe that shows increase

Ahh....you talking about THIS dyno graph. I can tell you if you check the front pipe page, the down pipe page and the front pipe/downpipe combo page, they all have the same dyno numbers. I just checked.

I can tell you though that changing out that downpipe helps the turbo spool up really quickly. Testing and re-testing different modifications at the track, I gained no additional trap speed or quicker 1/4 mile times by changing out my front pipe. I've done this twice so far. No dice!

I did add a 3" exhaust each time I added the front pipe. So the exhaust sound became louder. Some people will like it, some will not. I'm more on the conservative side these days (Getting older...ugghh) so this change was a bit to loud for me. So I ended up having a 2.5" in/out muffler put on and it's perfect.

Also, it just seems a little ridiculous to have this setup (PRL Front Pipe to Stock Exhaust) ~~~>

This is not to knock or downplay PRL at all. You'd have to gauge if running your car with the setup in the picture above makes sense though. ;)
