6mp and 6% seem to be the sweet spot. Turn vsa completely off. Also you do realize hondata traction control only works with the cruise completely off. If cruise is on but not set, I believe it has gray text then hondata traction control is disabled.
I never use cruise control, people are too shit at driving not to constantly bleed speed. I tried turning it completely off (holding it for 10 seconds in R mode) and the wheels just spin like there is none at all.

Edit:
Just reflashed 6 and 6 and the throttle plate is still closing all the way. IDK maybe Hondata will fix it in an update.

From my experience if traction is poor (worn tires, slippery road), the car will eventually close the throttle once it overspins significantly (this is on a Euro FK8 and TC slip set to 6%, btw). If I know it’s slippery I just don’t floor it in 1/2/3, instead I apply throttle gradually and once I feel TC working I hold the throttle, until I feel regained traction or need to shift.

Point being that Hondata TC does not necessarily means you get to use the pedal in 0/1 mode.

Just to make sure, you said you never use cruise but even if the cruise is on but not set hondata traction control is disabled, says cruise main in the upper right hand corner. For hondata traction control to work there should be nothing on in the upper right hand corner. I've never had an issue with my the factory vsa off and hondata traction control on and I'm running full torque in 1st and 2nd so it if still doesn't work you don't have something setup right. If you want to upload your tune I can check it for you.

Correct. It's hard to miss if that grey cruise main is on the dash. Coming off an exit floored in 3rd moving across lanes this morning it seemed to work since I saw the vsa symbol flash briefly. Yesterday the roads were wet so second and 3rd were chop city so I couldn't reliably test. It mainly closes right when boost peaks as soon as I get on it. I'll have to try again this afternoon

Edit: I got it worked out. Under 4k I lowered the torque targets and I use 60-75% throttle down low until I get into the 5k range in the top of 2nd and 3rd it will slip some at WOT but the throttle plate stays open and it feels good

Just sold my KTuner V2 last night, switching to Flashpro... Hope I made the right decision

I wish that there was a small, cordless version of Flashpro similar to the KTuner V1.2 that I could leave plugged in without a large cord to manage.

So is anyone running full power 1st / 2nd?

I’m contemplating doing it at least for 2nd gear.

Any down sides?

Other than traction that is.

I run full power 1st and 2nd and 8% slip 8mph during the winter. If the road is completely flat and smooth there isn't an issue with traction really. Might have to do some slight throttle modulation at spool up. If going up hill or turning the wheels spin and ignition gets retarded a lot. You get a feeling with how the wheels behave pretty easily. With full bolt ons (mainly the prl ic charge pipes, hvi, and titanium inlet) boost builds and rpms climb incredibly fast. 1st gear will just instant redline lol.

Gosh It’s been awhile since I’ve looked at the screen but I thought that the target slip was the %delta difference between wheels. So higher number, allows a larger delta hence allowing more slip. Lower preventing slip as your setting a lower delta %. So for winter I’d want the setting lower?

Completely acknowledge that I could be wrong, working off my memory and I could be imagining things lol

I mean there's no proven/tested reason why I have it at 8. My reasoning is to allow the wheels the spin more since if it were a lower percentage vsa and TC would be interfering more. Cold streets are more slippery. Even in the summer 6 and 6 would have vsa cut throttle due to tourque.

Hey,

Does anyone know if it's safe to use when TC is constantly kicking in? Theres a snowstorm so I decided to try it out and Hondata TC is kicking in constantly where my car is popping all the way to redline lol. It's fun but I dont know if that much constant ign retarding is safe??
