Acura has shown the new Type S concept which previews the sportiest version of the next gen TLX. What do we all think? I personally am excited Acura is making some interesting and good looking products again. I had a feeling after the recent RDX release that they were headed in a good direction, the new TLX seems to solidify that fact. Now if they can nail the ILX and new MDX they'll have something good going. I'd still like to see them reintroduce a coupe model for a sporty entry below the NSX.

Future Type S models coming? Most likely RDX... possibly ILX... a new flagship coupe/sedan would be nice as well.

Looks nice. It might appeal to some buyers who find the Type R too "boy racer":

True to a point, though this car is going to be in a totally different price class, possibly close to double the cost of a CTR. People wanting similar performance can lightly mod an Accord 2.0T Sport much cheaper than the TLX Type S will cost. BUT if they do an ILX Type S i could see it being a slightly closer match (but still more expensive than the CTR)

Looks amazing! But since it's Acura, the drawbacks I'm already predicting:

- 0 chance of a manual transmission available
- If it looks anything like the concept and comes with a turbo V6, that thing is gonna be $50,000 :(

Given that the current TLX tops out shy of $50k, i'm thinking between $55-60k for the S Type. And being honda... they may ONLY offer a manual given their penchant for the Si and CTR only having manuals... but then i look at the NSX and it's automatic... so its really a toss up. With any hope they'll offer both.

It's not going to be manual.

Single turbo with an AT *not cvt* apparently.

Be nice if the production model comes close to looking like the concept model

Honda/Acura have always been pretty keen on keeping their "concept cars" and their production cars pretty close in appearance (save for things like wheels and side mirrors) just look at the concept cars for the civics, or accord, or even the later concepts for the NSX... take the concept, put on different wheels and side mirrors and you more or less have the final product. It already looks mostly production ready as is, so i'm guessing save for minor tweaks, what we see is what we'll get.

Unlike companies like Subaru that release sleek looking concepts that end up being the same 3 box sedans over and over again, Honda/Acura has always been easy to count on when it comes to maintaining concept looks through to production.

Your right about Subaru it’s always a disappointment between the concept and product
