I was looking at a long datalog I did on the TSP Stage 1 (non-Si) and saw something interesting on one of my WOT pulls. As I hit the 16 minute 51 second mark on the run, I was going 70 mph. Then, just a split second past the 16 minute 54 second mark I was at 90 mph and climbing. So, 70-90 in a touch over 3 seconds give or take. I remember doing that run on a cool morning and thinking it seemed very quick and my datalog showed me peaking at 26.4 psi. Yikes.

As it turned out, I was accelerating plenty fast. I found a site that lists 70-90 mph times and was pleasantly surprised (though most are older performance cars). Not bad for a CVT transmission and soda pop bottle sized turbocharged engine in an econo car.

Wow. That puts you at number one on that 70-90 mph list. And here I thought my 3 second time was quick. What gear were you in... what's your secret? Nitrous?

Myx, to be fair he runs the TSP Stage 1, but I don't see how he could be like 1.8 seconds faster 70-90 than my TSP Stage 1 non-Si.

Maybe it was some sort of Canadian humor post? But, I didn't see any smilies.:dunno:

Looking closer at my datalog, when I did that 3 second 70-90, actual boost was only at 22 psi. Then it just kept rapidly climbing until I let off the throttle at 100 mph. Here's the numbers right before I let off on the throttle during that run. And the target was only 23 but I overshot it by nearly 3.5 psi.

I went WOT for a good 5+ seconds total. If you look at the red MAP line in the graph you can see that big hump where I overshot the target by a lot.

I don’t know about you boyz down south, but in the cooler air up here the TSP tune just hauls azz! Up until this week we were in the 30C with high humidity. This weekend, 20C and no humidity. The car is a beast! Wow, seriously impressed with the cool weather performance!

When I did my run that morning it was around 60F. Most of the time this summer though it's been in the 90's and humid. The difference in the cool, dry weather is huge. Looking forward to the cool fall temps.:)

On that note, It'll be interesting to see what 1/4 mile times I can muster up in October-December. I'm hungry for PRL's 13.1 1/4 mile time on street tires......even though they were on flex fuel.....in an Si.

Eww, knock count. Assuming you're in stock IC based on the IATs too

That boost spike corresponded to what looks like the converter locking (yes the cvt has a torque converter)

You can see the rpms drop as the boost spike happens with no change to tps. The load shot up when that occurred and at the same wastegate position the boost went up.
