I had the 1999 Civic Si and it really was a tiny car and kinda cheap. Thankfully, after The Fast and the Furious came out my Si got stolen and I upgraded to a more mature car. I guess looking back it really was a car for the under 25 crowd, today's Si really is for anyone who wants to drive a stick.

Based on my memories, an SI 99 (or SIR in canada) driven like you stole it could do better than the 15.7 @ 88mph...
Power was hard to extract though, especially at the launch

Was sad to see them say the new Si was built at East Liberty, where they haven't built a Civic in a few generations... No fact checking anymore in the media...

Honda of Canada Mfg. Proud home ALL Civic Si models and ALL Civic Coupes!

I went from a 2000 Si to my 2017 Si and if I was given the choice and I'm happy with the upgrades the new one has. I miss some things sure, especially how easy it was to work on and swap everything, but at 220,000 miles it was starting to show its age. Although I felt more "involved" driving my old Si I wouldn't go back to it.

I owned a 1999 Si since new and put over 200k on the clock. Sold her for just under 5k in 2017 and she was near mint and bone stock. Couldn't kill the car. Ran like a swiss watch on the day I sold it. Original clutch also!! I like the new Si and love the mileage and turbo torque, which old Si had none of until about 7200rpm. Except for the typical AC condenser failure the 2017 has been decent. Want to get a Ktuner just to improve driveability. So this one will not stay stock.
