Ya and now it will be 6.2 to 60 and a 14.7-14.6 quarter same mph....mag tests are full lift shifts between gears. It will still be 2 shifts to 60 which adds 0.5 total to the times at a minimum.

We have to see if this makes a difference in track times. Otherwise you're just burning more gas. I'd rather have the LEDs and black rims more.
Id definitely love to have the leds.. the wheels on the other hand.... not my fave.

Sounds legit. In one of the car reviews I watched a couple of days ago, the GTI rabbit got 6.4 seconds 0-60 and the Si got 6.8 seconds. But the GTI gears are so long 60mph in 2nd is a breeze, if the Si could get to 3rd in 2nd I bet it ties the GTI to 60.

A 6% change in final drive ratio would make the Final drive go from 4.105 to 4.35.

Here is how the maximum speed in each gear will change:

1st- 31 mph
2nd- 53mph
3rd- 82mph
4th- 109mph
5th- 134 mph
6th- 163 mph (mechanical gear limit)

In 2017-2019 model, 2nd gear goes to 57mph, 3rd goes to 87 and 4th to 115. I prefer the ratios as they are, the car is loud enough on the highway. They would have been better off upgrading the clutch and tweaking the tune to add 10-15 more horsepower/torque which would have the same effect of a six percent increase in wheel torque with out sacrificing fuel economy and noise. 6% reduction in fuel economy should bring the efficiency down by 2mpg. I like being able to get 45mpg on long trips. I thought that was pretty epic the first time I took a 5-6 hour drive.

6.8 is pretty shabby. Seeing how car and driver pulled a 6.3 out of the coupe.

I agree with you that I like the ratios where they are. Also for a competive autocrosser that lower speed 2nd gear is going mean bouncing off the rev limiter more often or requiring another upshift, both of which are potentially problematic.

Which one hit the quarter mile faster? That’s the time that really matters imo

Did Honda actually ask anyone, or do any focus groups, before making changes? My guess...no.

So the 2020 will still get creamed backing out of a space because there is no rear cross traffic monitor.

I can brake all on my own. And I can tell if I am in my lane. Stuff we didn't need.

And will still have rev hang for days.

And no cooled seats, no option for leather, no better seat material period, and no built in GPS on the most tech
happy car out there this side of a Tesla.

But hey, LED headlights, and black wheels. Now we're having fun. Oh, and an improved final drive ratio.
But no details to let us know if the car is any faster or has better gearing.

I knew that the Honda Sensing was coming so I pulled the trigger on a 2019. Yeah, I'd like the LED lights and I love the black wheels but I am not a fan of the Honda Sensing package even a little bit. Hearing from too many that Sensing is the Achilles heal of their Civics.

In what way? How does effect driving? Never drove a car with sensing.
