Just a heads up, I think you meant Hondata here.

I'm intrigued by this and had never once heard this before (I balked on purchasing a Ktuner during Black Friday because I likely want to spend a year without it and see how things are). Is the "button press" only on the V2 though? Do you need your laptop plugged in? Does it somehow go through your infotainment system? Does the hardware have three separate buttons on them?

Thanks.
On Ktuner the map switching is done with the cruise control buttons. Cruise control has to be off of course. lol

Then you can have different maps with the ECO or Sport buttons. It's fantastic.

Does the Si have an ECO button? It's the first I've heard of that.

But that is very cool. Thanks for the info.

@MuffinMcFluffin

There are 3 different ktuner features that can be controlled via steering wheel buttons.

Hold "cancel" : enter map switching mode. Use + and - to switch. Tach will move between 1k, 2k, and 3k rpm to show which map is selected.

Clutch in, press "cancel" : enter launch control setup. Tach will show current launch rpm. Use + and - to adjust launch rpm.

Press "cruise" : enable rev hang (if you opted to disable it when flashing)

On a daily basis, I use that last feature the most.

That's awesome specificity, thanks. Makes me wish I just got the Ktuner now anyway then (though I'd be tempted to go full bore pretty much immediately heh).

i like switching back and forth sometimes between my kt and FP.

i just flashed with my FP and it made me remember how much i love having the option to start the car in sport mode. but there is definitely a difference in bottom end power. its a lot more potent in the KT, even with the "improved throttle response" option checked in FP. so i gotta say i like both of them for different reasons.

I feel like the 19.5/21.5 KT map pulls a bit harder at all rev ranges than the +6 FP map. I dont even bother with the +9 FP map because itll cause slippage like a mofo--its basically like the 19.5/23 KT map.

+1 for Hondata Customer Service i have a used ProTuner that the owner did not delete all their data but did unmarry it, Hondata was very helpful that much i can say and got me going, I would love to try a K-tuner but heck while i love the 9 psi tune i ran it for a week (Loved it!) and switched to the 6psi tune until i can get a upgraded clutch and possibly go ahead and delete the dual mass flywheel too.

wow. no one mentioned the clutch.. a tune will cause the stock clutch to wear early. even the base +6.
some say break it in properly and you won't have a problem, however thats what i did and mine started slipping at 20k.

ktuner is my preference simply because they are active on this forum to answer questions. you can also play with ktuner more if your into that by adjusting the
boost by rpm etc to limit clutch wear with on the fly map changes.
some of us need this car to last a long time as well as be fast.
Thank you for this man, didn't know it decreased the life that much even on base tune

^ Now that that can of worms has been opened I kind of agree.

My first tuner was a Hondata CARB and for a tuning newbie it was a good starting point. I think what Ruskee was trying to point out is that the CARB is a bit limited. But, like SoCal says, some people just want basic and simple.

Sometimes the vibe on the forum is Hondata sucks, Ktuner rocks and I think that's a bit unfair to Hondata.
Is the CARB Hondata safer for the clutch than the base (lowest) Ktuner tunes?
