I’ve always loved those cars. Sat in em every year at the auto show and just love the interior. Beautiful and sporty ride. From reading your post, I'm sure you’ll love it. You get enough fun factor with the refinement to be happy, imo.

Man im sorry. 15k mile tire life with less features and a dolled up Toyota motor. Meh. I wouldn't give my si up for anything short of a true F. I haven't really found anything about Lexus i just love yet.

Some people love infinity's, and others hate them. Some people think there is nothing better in this world than a Subaru. I love the Civic Si and enjoyed it over the year I owned it, but am kind of tired of harder suspension, road noise, pillar rattles and having to row thru gears when I'm tired. I would disagree and say that a Lexus is a thousand steps above a Civic, but it would only be my opinion

For what you paid sure. You made a smart move but i think long term you'll feel like the Lexus has little personality/ get aggravated at the problems you expected not to have.

60k is 822.00$
90k is 975.00
110k is 1400.00$

Tires are 1300.00$ every 15k roughly
Headlight bulbs are 400.00
Rattles drive these owners crazy so be prepared for that.

Just for informational purposes.
Hope you do your own maintenance.

I think id rather have an Acura.

I think id rather have an Acura.
Remember, since 1995 I have owned 6 Toyotas, every last one of them except two (my wife totalled one, the other one went to cash for clunkers at almost 200k) are still around and running. I have so many friends and family that own Lexus's, including ES, GS, and IS models. Many of them are over 10 years old and have over 100k on them.

I knew tires were going to be a factor when making this decision. I also knew gas mileage was another. I have never owned an IS before, but have driven several, so know all about them. If I'm not happy with it, I'll just sell it and buy that Acura!

BTW I know a good mechanic, he's been working on my cars for 10 years, and he also works on Lexus, Infinity's, Honda's and Acuras. He is very honest and fair and reasonable in what he charges.

But thanks for the info. I value it greatly, as you mentioned your 10 years experience

Congrats on the new ride. It's definitely refined and that V6 is plenty quick. Wish you many years of trouble free ownership.

Are the 2010s much faster than the 2019s? All youtube reviews I watched said it's not in performance category. They even said that about the F-Sport and the RC350 AWD F-Sport.

Reliable. Maybe. But what good if you want something high performance?

Lexus IS's are a solid ride, should last you a really long time for sure. Personally, I could never trade out a 2018 car for a 2010 one because of the loss of tech features and modern styling, but it is a significant upgrade in terms of interior quality, comfort, and refinement. I probably would have bought a CPO Camry or 2014-present gen CPO IS350 or something if I wanted a smooth V6 and decent interior along with some more modern features, but that's just me. Regardless, that's just my stupid opinion, i'm sure you'll enjoy the car since you like Toyotas/Lexus so much anyway.

I didn't buy it for it's high performance, being the fastest etc. I bought it for it's comfort, smooth quiet ride, and a bit sportiness when I want it. I also bought it for it's highly reliable V6 engine. If my needs were high performance, there are better options out there

The 2019 is probably faster, but it's also $45k plus

Yea you're absolutely correct. :) At the same price range, the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport and the BMW 440i xdrive would be much better performers.

I actually don't care about the newest tech. I like old school dials and knobs. It has enough tech to connect my phone, and I will just mount it for Google maps etc.

BTW if I had run into a Honda Sports V6 at this price and mileage I might have jumped on that. It was just timing, my friend was selling and I was ready

Makes sense, perfect car for you then lol. Getting an IS350 of that gen that doesn't have 120k+ miles and isn't in completely weathered down condition is hard to find, so congrats on that.

-The 350's are all 98-100ish MPH cars.

* F sport is basically an appearance package.

If you want a real performance car with a lexus badge, you have to get an actual F model (IS-F, RC-F, etc) or an LFA.
