just though E-85 might give me more fuel range
Nope. For fuel efficiency, pure gas is best. For power, E85 is best due to the extremely high octane rating of ethanol and its burn rate.

Agreed... OP, not trying to bash on you but seriously you must be from a different world if you think 27-29mpg is a gas guzzler o_O

My STI averaged about 19mpg, had a Lexus IS200T that got about 24, and my buddy's M3 does about 19-20 as well. Getting 29mpg from a pocket sports car like the CTR is pretty good.
I feel yea... I wanted to get an opinion from other drivers what their avg. MPH were.. maybe calling the rocket a gas guzzler was the wrong approach, but driving an accord V6 for so many years spoiled me... given the fact this car is a race car.. I felt as if I was running through gas super fast, but I guess I'm using the car more efficient than others..
Not to mention I wanted to know if E-85 was a better option, clearly it isn't..

Lucky bastards !
Im lucky if I can get to 20MPGs on my car. At around 200miles the empty lights comes on.

And you call a high 20s mpg car a gas guzzler LOL
Not quite, but when your use to getting 35 mpg out of your accord, 27 mpg is a definite guzzler.. apples to oranges tho...

Yeah, E-85 is a big no in my book, for mileage I mean. Lots of friends who ran it in Subarus and they were getting about 17%-20% worse MPG on E85 than they were with regular 91.

I should tell you that when I am whipping my 2.0 NA K20C2, I can get as bad as 23 - 26 mpg. I have less than half the overall power of you. I drive it on 91 octane but only to guarantee I am not getting any ethanol. If I drive normal in the city, I get about 30. If I am cruising on the highway and not blasting all over the place, I can almost get 45.

The one thing I would remember is the power profiles are so different on the 3.5L V6 vs the K20C1 that they are not even remotely comparable. The V6 would barely have to work to deliver the power needed when just driving it casually. 20/30 rating for the Accord with the 3.5 and the CTR is rated at 22/28.

And I can say for me, if I had a CTR, I would likely be in full smiles per hour mode all the damned time.

I checked the computer for my average and I'm at ~26-27mpg which is probably 24-25mpg in reality which I'm satisfied with.
My driving is equal parts "old man Sunday drive" and " Speeeeeeeeeeeeeed!".

17mpg here not sure how you guys do it..

But almost all city

For real, same here. I do about 90% highway driving and average roughly 18.5mpg. I took a trip last week that was all highway and averaged 32mpg on that tank. I’m lucky if I get 200 miles on a single tank. But 10-11 gallons at 18-19mpg is right around that 200 number. I’m perfectly happy and content with that. Small tank, so obv we’re going to be at the gas station filling it up more often. But that mpg on this car is pretty decent for what it is, and how I drive it! Lol

This. MPG rating was the last thing on my mind when I bought my car. If fuel economy was my priority I'd get a Prius.

I'd get a Corolla Hatchback Hybrid. Same system as the Prius without being a Prius :p Though then I'd double back and get the Corolla Hatchback manual :p

27-29 is great. I usually end up getting 22-23. I got close to 30 one trip where I filled up and reset the meter and tried driving as gingerly as possible. It was the 4th of July and cops are just looking to pull you over.

Any other time I'm far from anything moderate. I floor it whenever opportunity arises, I stay in the mid range of the gear if I'm driving spirited, and I don't shift into 6th unless I'm at or very close to 70mph.

I'm about to recieve hondata (today I hope! I brought my laptop to work just in case) so I imagine gas mileage will be staying in the low 20s lol

I think that mileage is within expectation. I can get 35 on the hwy but it's annoying. It's a high performance car that gets near 30 average. I don't think it's all that bad really. If you want great mileage and a sporty ride, check out the si. It'll get you 40+ in a fun well rounded package.
Agreed, if I'm trying I can hit 40mpg pretty easily in the Si

You can't even run pure E85 in these cars - there is not enough fuel pump (and likely fuel injector) capacity to do so, and the ECU will not adjust for it without a tune.

E85 has lower energy density than gasoline, so you burn more of it to cover the same distance in your FK8. You would need a larger fuel pump and injectors, and you'd get worse gas mileage.

29mpg is great. I get around 30mpg on the highway when keeping it to 80 or so. Last weekend I did 90 miles of driving on mountain passes and averaged just under 9mpg. Was a bit surprising, given my old RS4 would usually return low double digits on the same roads.

Apologies in advance for breaking in on a type r models forum, but I was looking through E 85 threads and thought I would reply regarding the fuel consumption I’m getting with a 2017 Honda touring coupe with mods regarding E 85. We CLIMBED up to 40.8 miles per gallon while doing 80 miles an hour on interstate 65 from Wisconsin to Louisville Kentucky. E74 ish.

27 is not a guzzler!
are you drunk? I don’t know what you expect from the K20C1? It is designed for maximum power and extreme performance.....just be happy it’s pretty damn decent on fuel given how savage the CTR is overall.

Sell the CTR and get a insight and be happy. This car isn’t made for people like you.... hate to be brutally honest but it’s true.
