What did you do to your Type R today?

Performed first DIY oil change on the Type R. Not taking to the dealer anymore. Can’t stand the couple extra miles it has on it when I pick it up

i have those lifts too, a very solid lift and easy to roll around too

Why does it have extra miles? WTF? I don’t understand this.

I think the dealership techs take the car for a spin after they service it. Last time I took it for an oil change I noted the mileage and it had (2) extra miles on it when I picked it up.

That was all the incentive needed to start doing it myself

I'm happy my dealer doesn't do this. I've done 4 oil changes through them now and had no added miles. I did have one of the techs joke about it being on the expressway, but when I got it back there were no miles added on it.

It is a sticker I put on the frame. It turned out great & looks good. I have a subtle touch of “Type R” in various places around the car. Just me

GruppeM intake.
Underside is made as nice as the top side. Everything funnels in to the airbox. Everything fit oh so perfectly I was amazed.

Sure, its an ezcarlift. I ordered it from here about a month ago:

It’s a bit on the pricier side. Went back and forth deciding whether to pick one up or try a cheaper option... (or spend the money on other car mods, lol)

For the Type R is was:

$1740 for the lift
$79 for ramp extensions (CTR needs these)
$175 shipping
+ Sales tax I think.

I also had to buy a corded (2) speed drill to operate it, so that was another $150 or so. I went with DeWalt.

Ultimately I took the plunge after reading the many positive reviews + I like the portability. It’s held together by (8) nuts and bolts. Remove these and it breaks down into (4) pieces.... (2) ramps and (2) crosspieces which can be stowed in our hatchback with the seat down if I ever want to take to the track or a friends house. I also like that it is screw jack based rather than hydraulic.

Customer service is probably the best I have encountered from any company. The owner Boytcho Manev seems to really take pride in each unit he sells and was very patient and helpful answering questions via text pretty much at any time of the day. Shipping was fast.

When I decided to buy, I was having all kinds of rock and dust issues making my brakes squeal which was driving me nuts. I was thinking it would be useful to have something like this to jack the car up without damaging it to remove the wheels and clean the brakes.. of course, shortly after buying I found the brakes can be kept clean by spraying them real well with a pressure washer, when washing the car. I’ve had no more issues with brake squeal since I started doing this smh.

The first time I used it to swap out the (2) front tires. One of my (2) front OEM rims was bent

Yesterday was the first time for an oil change and to get underneath the car. Replaced my transmission fluid today. I raised it nearly to its full working height of (26) inches and it surprised me how much clearance that turns out to be. That gives plenty of room to work and makes things really easy. The oil filter was on really tight and it would have been a much tougher task if I had less room to work with to get it loose.

The ezcarlift is raised and lowered using a corded 2 speed drill. Lower speed when need more torque for initial lifting and fast speed once it’s going. I saw a YouTube video where it took some dude several minutes to raise it. I think he was using a crappy drill. Mine raises (2) mins or less.

It has (4) small caster wheels so it can be rolled around easily and positioned under your car.
Once the lift is raised the feet set down and lift is rock solid.

Build quality is excellent and it looks great. If there is a downside: fully assembled it is heavy and awkward if you are alone and trying to lift it to lean it against a wall. With a buddy it would be no problem. If you have a garage and can stow it under a car, no problem either. My garage is full of old arcade games so this isn’t an option for me. I don’t want to leave it out to rust.

I disassemble mine each time I’m done with it.
Each ramp weighs about 60 lbs.
