Civic X owners: what are absolute must upgrades for the 1.5T? I’m thinking CAI, down pipe and hondata + tune. I lease, so don’t want to go too crazy. A little bump in performance would be nice though. I’ve been quoted $1650 with an hour of dyno time.

Tune is number one for performance. The CAI will give you a small gain but the tune alone will transform your drive. KTuner V1.2 is the most reasonably priced tuning option.

Plus, the tunes were designed using a stock setup and depending on your added bolt ons, tweaking might be needed.

For that lease, a tune is probably all you need, power-wise.

Ktuner TSP Stg1 map. You can put it on Hondata instead but the general consensus is the Ktuner is best.

Fwiw I own both Hondata and Ktuner v1.2. I prefer Ktuner.

Also, since leasing... Realize the risk you are assuming in modding.

Cai is mostly a noise maker, the silicone intake pipe and a drop in filter will give you the best bang for the buck, especially used. PRL Cobra is the CAI to buy if you insist on having one.

Downpipe and optionally the front pipe will unlock some earlier throttle response as well as power. Bear in mind the stock clutch does not tolerate abuse. Use the search and benefit from the collective experience of documented post history.

For a no brainer mod.... Floor mats. The stock ones will wear through disturbingly quick.

Thanks Micah! I appreciate the time it took you to post, as I’m new to modding.

I’ll see what Ktuner costs and consider that instead. Do you have a link for the “silicone intake pipe and drop in filter” you mentioned? Also, isn’t the PRL Cobra for Si models only? You also mentioned something about a clutch, although I drive a touring model (CVT; not manual).

only one upgrade. ktuner with tsp stage 1. It will totally transform the car and you can take it back to stock in ten minutes when the lease is up. Other than that leave it stock.

Someone locally is selling a Ktuner V2. Is that ok or should I stick with 1.2?

The V1.2 is cheaper but the V2 with it's 5" touchscreen is great because no laptop is needed. I love mine.

if you get a good deal on the v2, def just spring on that. rather than having to buy a tablet or app for your headunit to view your afr, iat, etc!

If you buy the v2 at a good price you can buy the TSP Stg1 map separately. Otherwise if you buy a tuner from TSP I believe they give you the map for free. Unless that was a limited time offer when I bought mine.

$90+$450=$540

Given your expectation to spend over $1500.... Splurge on quality mats from Lloyd's. Their best mats are $200 for the set. Or you could go the weathertech or husky route...

Can confirm on the Lloyd mats, I've had them about 5 months and their awesome. I have them as solid black with red trim, and the red Honda logo in the center.

I have the OEM all weather mats that I use in the winter.
