Pressure Washer + Foam Cannons

Any members here have any experience with pressure washers and foam cannon combos for washing their vehicles? Ready for my first official wash on the Type R and wanted to try this touchless method out. Did a quick search on amazon and found the Sun Joe SPX3000 (below) seems to be a very reasonable price. Also saw the Ryobi from home depot which seems ok too. As far as cannon go, there a bunch on amazon including Dusichin, Matcc, Chemical Guys. Leaning towards Chemical guys as they have a package deal with the basic cleaning tools. Finally, the Air force blaster sidekick which seemed like a good air dryer at the end. Any detail geeks can chime in to help to narrow down the selections or what they found to have worked best. Thanks in advance!

Pressure washer... a much older Husky branded unit from Home depot around 1700psi (I'd eventually want a bit more...no more than maybe 2200-2500psi...although 1600-2000 is more than enough to get the job done. No need to spend mad cash imho.

Sun Joe is awesome. I have been using it to wash my car for about 2 years. I will suggest that you buy the hose extension and the quick connect kit. The hose that comes with is not long enough to fully go around the car. The quick connect will make it soooo much easier to take the hose on and off.
I threw my foam canon in the stinking trash. If you have anything except for dust on your car, you will have to grab something to whipe it down. The Canon just doesn't do anything except waste a crap tone of soap. It's fun and cool to look at but it is not at all useful. The sun Joe will spray off the worst parts of the car before you put a micro fiber rag on it.

A foam cannon is not for replacing hand washing...it is simply for presoaking with soap.....how to use...pressure wash car...apply foam...hand wash with mitt...rinse with pressure washer...

Not to beat this again but...
Where I live, we get about 3 weeks of heavy spring pollen.
I do a powerwash, foam, rinse, Spotless rinse almost daily. I only hand wash the car if I am unlucky and wind up driving in the rain.
This process can be done in about 7-10 minutes. I put it in the garage wet and let it dry in the 'clean' air indoors. With the CRSpotless, I don't need to dry the car as long as the air is clean.

I'm also ceramic coated so that might make it a bit different. Powerwashing at about 45° angle is enough to get the car 'pretty' clean, or at least tolerably clean.

Yeah...I understand that...and thanks...I just wanted to make sure people understand that the use of foam cannons is not a replacement for hand washing. Getting sun baked on bugs and road debris off needs to be hand washed. ...and regarding the pressure outputs...be carefull of anything much over 2000psi on cars paint as some paints are not as durable as they once were!

Make sure your foam cannon comes with a 1.1mm orafice (or buy one if it doesn't). It's like a $4 part. IMHO, this will make a noticeable difference in the thickness and quality of your foam. Especially if you are using an electric pressure washer.

I use a Ryobi foam cannon from Home Depot (went to low budget route), it has 1.2GPM and 1800 PSI

I bought a Fasmov Foam Cannon on Amazon (again, going the cheap route):

I also installed a foam cannon adapter piece to increase the PSI to create better foaming (note, without this, the foam gun barely worked because my pressure washer doesn't produce enough GPM per the foam gun requirements):

Between the cheap Ryobi and the cheap foam gun, I think my all in cost was ~$150, and it works incredibly. I get a super thick layer of foam using hardly any soap. I let it sit for awhile (never wash your car in the sun, I can't believe how many people I see doing that), spray it off, then re-foam and go over the car with two mits (and the two bucket method), car comes out beautifully. I'm able to do a full wash and wax detail in just under 2 hours using the foam cannon. Before, when washing all by hand, it took me closer to 2.5 hrs.

That Sunjoe will work excellent, i have the SPX3000 at home and at work (autobody shop). As for a foam cannon, I also use the chemical guys Torx. For drying, I have a few big extremely soft MF drying towels and a built in air hose at home that heats up and works great for the Type R. I do a lot of detailing at home on the side and train all my detailers at work. Cant go wrong with any of those products.

**WARNING**WARNING**
When it comes to pressure washers on vehicles, NEVER shoot a car with more than 2300 PSI & NEVER use less than a 25deg tip.

EDIT: Changed my technique a little

I like the Karcher K1700 Cube for a pressure washer

I use the PF22 foam cannon

My car AND wheels are coated with Gtechniq CSL + EXO v4 so that makes cleaning easier

My weekly method:
Interior First
Griot's Leather Scent
Vacuum with Dyson V7
Microfiber Towel wetted with ONR (4 Gallons, 4 Caps ONR) to lightly clean interior

Exterior:
ONR in PF 22 Foam Cannon (4 Caps ONR in 32oz Foam Cannon Bottle), K1700 Pressure Washer, CR Spotless for Deionized Water. I use this to dislodge anything heavy although even as a daily driver, I don't find this to be very necessary
Rinse Car off with DI Water + K1700 Pressure Washer

Bring Car into air conditioned garage (it's hot year round where I live)
Apply ONR using the BRS, 1 bucket method with grit guard (using same bucket as above)
Wipe dry with Microfiber towels

If anything is particularly resistant to the above, I spray with a touch of Tar X and then wipe away and apply Bead Maker as the drying aid
