The shift knob definitely sits lower.
Maybe it's just me (I know it's only supposed to be a 14% reduction in throws.) but the throws don't feel much shorter if at all.
I'm wondering if the short shift adapter for the transmission side that boomba offers for the regular civicX would fit the type r.
I'm not trying to get to a microscopic level, but I'm only noticing the acuity parts so far (transmission cable bushings, shorter rocker arm, centering spring, and base bushings)

Also a side note, I noticed that the boomba shifter is assembled as a ball that has a nipple, and the threaded rod seems to pass through the ball and is held in place by a bolt clamping it in place. I'm curious if that means its adjustable, or if the threaded rod has an indentation for that bolt meaning non adjustable. @Boomba Racing

All that aside I'd rather have the boomba shifter if for nothing else but the fact that it's all metal, and no more half plastic half metal OEM shifter!

*edit* added a picture of the shifter with the bolt in question for possible adjustability. You can see it on top of the ball.

I read your post before I bought and installed mine and was worried about it not reducing the shift to my liking, so I bought the Acuity adapter, spring and arm. I am amazed at the results. none of the pieces at plastic, all steel or aluminum.

I paired this up with all the CTR Acuity parts and a Raceseng Circuit shifter. Due to the height of the Raceseng knob, I had added length to my throws. So, I wanted to shorten the throws for my track day.
This made a huge difference. All the parts together provide a excellent shifting feel. Later on down the line I will get a full shifter.

Installation wasn’t bad except when trying to remove the OEM lever arm, that was a pain.

Installed mine today on my Si along with the weighted Boomba knob and all the Acuity upgrades .
Length and throw are perfect now. Amazing difference in feel. Doesn’t feel ‘plasticy’ or ‘clicky’ Still a little clunky going from neutral to 2, 4, 6 but think that’s just the nature of the transmission itself. May try changing out the oil as some have suggested.
Totally worth every penny though! This is how they should come stock.

Couple notes on the install guides. Two places gave me fits trying to figure out what I was supposed to do. Could use a little more clarity - better photos or videos and descriptions.

Steps 19 & 20: Lift the locking tab and turn the cable counter clockwise to disconnect the cable from the base.
I kept looking for some type of separate piece to remove or slide out of the way. Finally figured out it was a little finger on part of the plastic cable mount.

Steps 28 & 29: Slide small flat screw driver under the tab and carefully move it to the outside. Repeat it a few times.
It was hard to tell by the description what I was actually supposed to be trying to do. And when I thought I was doing what I was supposed to it seemed to keep clicking back in place. I felt like I was chewing the heck out of it without any result. I was about to give up and just order a new assembly (they were only $30) but decided to give it a whack with the hammer and it popped out.

Also it’s not much more work to remove the center console and makes it a lot easier to access the mounting screws and the wire attachments.

So happy with this upgrade!
