I don't know why so many people are against plasti dip and would rather spend time sanding, priming, painting, finishing, etc.. I get it probably looks better after all of it, but I love the chrome delete and its so easy to take back off if you get sick of it. Black is probably the only color id ever use though, the rest look kinda silly. Drop photos here of plasti dip work!

The poll sucks... it can't be just 100% support or 100% against haha, gotta have an "in the middle" option.

I think it can be very useful and look good on certain applications, like trim, etc., but it gets a bad name because of the awful things some people do with it just because they can

Check out Dip Your Car on YouTube, they do plastidip the way it's supposed to be done.

Eh I plasti-dipped my 05 VW Jetta rims and logos when I was 18. But that was 10 years ago. I'd rather either replace the emblems, use vinyl wrap, or save for new rims.

Oh I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about everybody else that loves to Plasti-dip random shit on their car and call it a build lol.
Sorry if I made it seem like that, I just think it's a hilarious stereotype amongst the car "enthusiasts."

I don't know why the hate... I would not do wheels, but for trim how could you not like it?

I used it on my chrome trim 2 years ago and it still looks like it was applied last week.

As long as you apply it properly, it looks fine, and there's nothing wrong with it if that's the look you're going for. I've watched a lot of DipYourCar's YouTube videos and their results are insane. The product has come a long way, but it's really just a matter of knowing how to use it.

Agree with the the good sentiment wrt PlastiDip. I had an 08 Maxima that had ALOT of chrome that needed covering and it did wonders(esp the grille). I think the only dis-advantage is that getting a true "gloss" look is difficult, even with the "glossifier".

I decided to try my hand at vinyl wrap on my Civic emblems, and just doing the "H" nearly lost my mind, including nicking the clearcoat with the xacto knife on the rear hatch. I'm not sure I have the fortitude to attemp the "civic" or "Sport" emblems. If I don't Dip them will likely just remove them entirely and call it a day.

I knew i wouldn't be careful enough for vinyl wrapping them haha so i pulled them off with a credit card, sprayed them, and re mounted with 3M mounting tape, but yeah the civic word was quite the task and its kinda iffy from up close, but ill deal with it

Personally, I am generally against plastic dip on newer cars. Why? It screams cheap.

I am not saying plastic dip doesn't have its uses, but painting or wrapping > Plastic Dip in most situations.

I don't really have the energy or money to have a shop do everything or do it myself honestly. My base hatch i didn't think was too expensive for it, not like someone dipping a BMW or something haha
