The 2020 Sport Touring Hatch has manual and will be released near year end. The Si is a better package (value) with more power but no sensing. The ‘19 Sport Hatch does have sensing and more cargo room. I’d say go test drive both to see which one speaks to you. Good luck.
I contemplated this exactly but went with the manual hatch sport touring (CDN) because of no sensing on the SI.

My kid also plays hockey so having the hatch is also a nice bonus.

So, I've owned my 2017 Civic Hatchback Sport CVT for 3 years now. Here are some Pros and Cons of the car. Pros: The car is fun around corners and has some good storage space. I also think that the hatchback sport looks better, in terms of the black wheels, under body spoilers (which I put a red pin stripe), dual exhaust tips, and the hatch body style. Cons: It's lacking some of the great features that the SI has, the sunroof, better seats, creature comforts, LSD, etc. Obviously, you can opt for a sport touring with a manual now (2020 model I believe). According to Civicx forums, the SI engine can take more power (please correct me if I'm wrong). Quality issues may vary depending on the model, but I've had little annoying issues with mine. Certain things now rattle, cvt is just the worst... and I mean the worst (my fault for not waiting), windows will go nearly to the top, but then will come back down when the auto mode is used, the dual boot hatch/trunk covers come off if you pull it down incorrectly, the piano black trim along the door is either coming off or deforming, the plastic cover over the cigarette lighter and usb port will come off if you pull incorrectly. Now, I'm listing these to show you the issues I've had. Certain things may have been improved, since you are going with a later model. I think the 2019 SI may be a better buy here. Yes, it is more expensive, but you get what you payed for. If you like the hatch stlyle and the storage, I would say go for the sport. If you really like having the features and lsd, the SI all the way. Make sure you get a good test drive with both. Oh, and NEVER agree to a free car wash at the dealership. They will scratch the crap out of your car. Just avoid it at all cost. Hopefully this helped!

I was really close to picking up the hatchback, I just couldn't get over the looks of it and the potential fun with modding it up a little, but I did end up changing directions very suddenly in the car I wanted for many reasons. I saw the Hyundai Veloster N and I bolted at that thing hard since it ruled out potential problems I foresaw with what I wanted to do. That and I get a handbrake e-brake :D I was sold on basically every feature about it, internally and externally. Thanks to someone making a post about it here on the forums on their debate, I took a deeper look at the car and I am now an owner of the 2020 Veloster N PP and loving the hell out of it! I did lose out on a sunroof, but I got the LSD and more horsies.

The Si can definitely take more power, not by a large margin or anything, it does have some better parts in the engine.

Edit: I definitely will not be getting free car washes from anyone but myself XD

First off, congratulations of the Veloster! I heard that they're great cars. I can understand the choices you made, which weren't bad ones. I may switch directions as well. I'm looking at RS, Golf GTI/R, CTR, or a s550 GT. I guess it depends on the buyer!
