I've had this wheel for a few weeks now and wanted to hold off posting impressions until I'd had it long enough to adequately judge it. And honestly that judgment is the same as when I initially installed it - it's a really, really good custom wheel.
It is based on an OEM core
My flavor was matte CF, real leather, and a red stripe at the top
As configured, and I think most options cost the same, it came in at $499. I honestly don't recall if that price included shipping.
Delivery time was 7 weeks, original quote was 4 weeks but the cores were delayed. Others have gotten them faster so just unfortunate timing on my part.
All communication was done through Instagram DM to @is_autogroup
Installing the wheel was relatively painless but even I was surprised that I had to turn my 1/2" DeWalt hog ring impact wrench all the way up to get the big allen bolt loose. But it came loose and following guides hither and yon, install went without any surprises. Took half an hour to do.
Measurements in mm:
Stock cross section
is_autogroup cross section
is_autogroup thickest section (matches to almost within 1mm of stock at the top of the wheel, measuring from back to front.
The size of the wheel from back to front is immediately noticeable. Also, is_autogroup placed finger reliefs at the top of the wheel to aid grip and considering my choice was matte, this is a welcome addition for when my hands are a little dry.
The thumb reliefs at 3 and 9 are perfect and really guide my hand to hold the wheel that way which, strictly speaking, my track instructor was pretty adamant I get used to holding the wheel that way. It was actually my first track day that soured me on the stock wheel, along with its fragile "leather" wrap (knicked it with a fingernail once, wtf?). Granted, I was muscling the car too much on my first day but nevertheless, my hands are I guess a little larger than average and they just never found a comfortable place on the stock wheel. I have not tracked with the IS wheel but I've tried to emulate some of the force and maneuvering I was doing on the track with it and it feels comfortable at least in short burts.
The quality is absolutely top notch. Every stitch is well done, the transitions into and out of the CF are great, and the matte CF matches the stock faux CF on the interior very well.
All in all, I am so very happy to have purchased this wheel. I considered other options but didn't want to plunk down quite so much, but also knew I wanted one based on an OEM core. is_autogroup sticks the landing for me, in these regards.

Hope this helps.
