44,000 miles. 2 years, 1 month old. Never tracked. "Spirited" driving daily. VA weather (10-100deg). Everything performance-wise is stock except rear engine mount + intake. Definitely buying the Mishi tank ASAP.

Pretty crazy how nasty the stock bottle can get.

Probably gonna get alot of flak for this but...... How do you fill the reservoir ? It has a tiny glass window and beside that, the word "Cold" with a line on it. So, where is the Max line ? Is there one ? Are you supposed to just fill it up until the window is full ? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I just switched out the reservoirs, didn't bother with anything under the car or draining all the coolant first. Piece of cake. Looks great !

Hi Jason,

Sorry for any trouble getting that topped up and the delay in getting back to you. There is a fill line on the inside of the tank you should be able to see from the fill cap. We recommend topping off the car when it is cooled off to make sure you have an accurate level.

If you have any questions or if anything gives you any trouble, feel free to reach out to our customer service teams.

Thanks,

So I just did an oil change. I noticed blue/green chalky substance (dried up coolant) coming from around the entire seal of stock tank. Whatever they used to seal the two pieces to gether to make the tank, are leaking now, and it's not just in one or two spots, but around the entire tank at the seal. I'm at 44,000 miles btw. I'm going with the Mishi tank ASAP.
Wondering if anyone has installed the Mishi Universal aluminum tank (cylinder-shaped) and if it works just fine? Might be nice to put this tank in instead; save a little weight, both with the tank and less fluid, plus it'll open up a little more breathing room in the engine bay...

Hi Jason,

In general with our parts, if we make something that's a direct fit, we recommend that option. While they can be more expensive, you're also sure to get the right size item with all the provisions needed for a bolt-in setup. Unlike the universal tanks, ours features the sight glass, vented overflow, as well as all auxiliary connections, which you'd lack with the universal tank.

If you have any questions on the tank or customizing your setup, feel free to get in touch with our customer service team and we'll be happy to help!

Thanks,

Mishimoto

Quick install, didn’t drain the fluid.
Not to necro-post or anything, but how did you install this without draining the coolant?

Good question! I was wondering the same! I watched their Mishi install video. But I still don’t get it lol.
I suspect flat-jawed vice grips are in order.

@djlythium I just installed a different tank. Theres a black bracket from fender wall to motor mount area (two 14mm bolts). Remove that bracket and you can lift oem tank up and angle it to where bottom hose won't drain much coolant. Remove that bracket also allowed me to pour majority of coolant out of tank into a small bucket. I pinched both small and large hose w clamps as well. Lost very minimal coolant.

@Mishimoto,
On the topic of coolant, can you fit the performance Radiator, and the secondary radiator, or is it either/or?

Yep, like @Coqui mentioned, as long as you can get access to the return line from the bottom of the tank, just pinch that off without having to drain the full system. There are tools made specifically for pinching off lines like this, but anything self-locking works! Just be careful using anything with teeth so that you don't damage your coolant line.

Yup, you can install both together!
