Haven't tried it yet. Will post once I do.
Did this today and still can't get the lights to illuminate
Might just have to splice the wires.

Does anybody know the color code for a Touring, Black interior matching module? I would assume it's considered light gray? I found a module that has part number 39180-T2AA011-M1. Does anything in that part number tell you what the color type is? Thanks for your help!

If you're looking for a matching black Homelink module to install on your Civic, the part is from the 16-17 accord coupe.
36650-T2A-A11ZH

However, it's close to $200 so its pretty expensive. If you want to save money, you could get a grey/ivory homelink from ebay for $70ish and use black plastidip to spray it. The color is pretty close

I didn't need to do any wire splicing using the recommended "Breadboard Jumper Ribbon Cables". Just stick the pin to the side of the rails as shown in pic. It fits nice and tight!

Was planned to connect all 4 wires like the original instruction but didn't see the point so just connected wires 2 and 5.

Quick question- When just connecting wires 2 and 5, would the red light on the home link blink when the button is pressed?

Thanks!

Hey ebang,
I don't have pictures currently but they might not help either because you have to figure which rail is your ground.
If your ground is the bottom rail like mine then try this.
Pin 1 & 2 goes into BOTTOM RAIL (ground).
Pin 5 goes into MIDDLE RAIL (dome light?).
Pin 4 into TOP RAIL.

Just make sure you know which one is ground. Then Pin 1 & 2 will both go there.
Pin 4 and 5 will go 1 each to the other 2 rails. If all functions do not work for you, try swapping them around.

Pin 1: Variable ground for the button illumination (dimming feature)
Pin 2: Ground
Pin 3: Not used
Pin 4: +12v for the button illumination (headlight switch controlled)
Pin 5: +12v (constant)

Thank you for the clear instruction with photos. While my home link works, the dome light is acting very strangely- it maintains a dim light all the time. I know it is due to the home link module because the problem goes away when I disconnect just the home link. Other than this, everything works correctly. Anyone else has similar issue?

i just finished this project myself and ran into a small problem. My drivers side map lamp does not illuminate when the doors are open, but it mostly turns on when i control it to sometimes it wont ( i'm using the grey piece from a wrecked 2016 accord as my 2020 has a redesigned map light inside base piece), though they get dimmer when all 3 lights turn on.. could this just be an overall power draw is too much to power all of them at once? - i also did the dome switch mod from the rear dome to the front.

Thanks!

I just got my used homelink unit and it appears that the red LED is integral to the unit itself and thus should be powered by the 2 and 5 pins alone. I hope to have it installed in the next couple of days so I will report back if I am correct.

Success. Installed mine tonight. Ordered a 2011-2017 odessy overhead console from ebay for about $72. I was initially dismayed when I pulled down the console from my 2020 si and found this: (see first image)

As you can see the back of my current console is totally different from the previously posted backs where some folks had success sticking male end breadboard wires with no splices. (Of note my eBay console was identical to previous posts) Alas I could find no place to stick the male end in my console so I resorted to splicing the map light wires to #2 and #5 pins on the homelink console. The good news is that the oddessy bezel fit my si console with ease and my 2020 microphone still fit perfectly on the oddessy bezel.

I'm not entirely happy with my Plasti dip job but I can live with the results.

PS: the red transmit light works fine with just pins 2 and 5 used.

PPS: the programming instructions in the OP are not accurate for my garage opener. With my unit I first hit the learning button on the opener and then press and hold my transmit button in my car. I watch the light on the opener as it goes from blinking to steady indicating my transmitter has synched.
