Looks like this thread just popped up.
When I looked at 2017 Civic sedans they were supposedly made in Indiana, at least for the USA market. It was late in the year & we figured we'll wait till spring 2018 & drive the old car during the winter.
Spring 2018 arrives & now we have to wait for a car from Japan because the Indiana plant converted to SUV production because of their demand. From what I could find that changeover happened sometime in 2017.
We wanted a certain trim level & color & there were none in the area. Our dealer did a "dealer trade", but at the factory level. The car we wanted was already scheduled to be built for another dealer. The dealers basically swapped paperwork & the car was shipped to my dealer. Took awhile to get, but we got it.
