It's all a matter of allowing the synchronizes to work. Rev hang or no rev hang
The synchros aren't really the problem IMHO. The lurching seems to be caused by a rapid deceleration of the motor's RPMs when releasing the clutch in 2nd. And only after following a high RPM shift from 1st gear under WOT. Gearing, flywheel velocity, and rev hang all play a part.

In my experience, it takes a good 2 - 2.5 seconds for RPMs to come down and match wheel speed. But only when shifting from 1st to 2nd @ WOT.

That is because maybe you have rev hang disabled. I had this issue and then re-enabled it, problem solved

No, this is stock behavior. A flash may exacerbate the condition due to a more aggressive rpm ramp rate. But I've noticed this occurs both stock and flashed. Rev hang disable won't solve it, but it can help reduce the velocity of the flywheel upon clutch release, which in turn can lead to a smoother transition between the speed of the engine vs. the speed of the wheels over a given time/distance. Higher gears won't exhibit this issue.

It's much easier to illustrate on camera vs. describing over text. So I'll try to capture when I have time. In the meantime, notice the large delta between 1st and 2nd gear ratios. Significantly larger than any Si before it.

Owner of 2019 Si coupe. 68 yrs old and driven manual transmission all my life. I have found going from 1st to 2nd gear being particularly jerky in this car. After 4 months I have discovered that placing sport mode on the jerky ride from 1st to 2nd has almost disappeared. Mechanically this makes no sense to me but even my wife, as a passenger, agrees that sport mode provides a smoother ride 1st to 2nd gear.
Is it possible that the gas pedal sensitivity being changed in sport mode actually helps eliminate the jerky feeling ?

I have noticed the same thing. It must be something in the throttle response. I am looking for the thread some had about switch that will leave sport mode on permanently!

My experience is the same. Shifting while Sport Mode is ON = better vs When it is OFF (this was when my car was essentially stock).

My experience is fully opposite. When in sport mode shifts are far less forgiving.

I haven't noticed any issues with/without sport mode. I prefer the feel with sport mode on and only turn it off if I'm on a road trip.

My issue is putting it in reverse. Even at a complete stop, it sometimes feels like I have to really jam it in reverse, almost like it's stuck. Anyone else?

From a stop the transmission gears aren't spinning much if at all. If you encounter that condition in first or reverse, release the clutch in neutral for a moment, then try again.

Reverse was kind clunky for me too in the beginning, but it broke in after a few weeks
