viper4android sometimes not active?

hi,

iam using viper4android with latest hondahack for a while now (civic 10).
but i noticed, that sometimes theres no applied sound effect from viper (always after starting the car).
i have to open viper again and then i hear how the effects comes back (slight "plop" sound and everything works again).

does anybody else have that "problem" aswell?
i have the feeling that it happens mostly after using android-auto and when i start the car next time.

how can i make sure, that viper always stays in the background?
is it possible to autorun the app at the start _and_ close it automatically?
(only autorun works via hondahack settings)

@MrWaYne did you ever find the solution to this? I installed V4A last night but today it sounds like there is no applied sound effect.

The sound difference is very noticeable when V4A is running, yes?

I have not found any settings in my HU for "default sound processor" so maybe that's the issue? Thanks!

no real solution yet, still testing though.

what i found out so far:
using usb/bluetooth only, all viper effects stay active the whole time.
just sometimes, after using AA and restarting the car, viper isnt working. so i have to open viper again to make it work. really weird.
what source did you try?

what i have tried:
- whitelist on hondahack: ive added supersu, busybox and viper to the whitelist
- dont update supersu. it breaks viper4android
- reinstalled busybox commands -> open busybox and click install. restart the HU then.
- on hondahack: try with(out) the audio-fix setting


do you run viper4android on compatible mode? (check viper settings)
compatible mode doesnt work at all for me and no sound effects are applied.

i also enabled "show notification" on viper, maybe it does a difference.
additionally i set viper as the default EQ/DSP on the android settings (under sound/audio) - i dont remember the exact setting anymore, i gotta check it.

if there is no sound difference: can you try opening viper and go to the top right -> click on EXIT/close.
after that, re-open viper. does it work then for you?

a few months ago, someone on the forum had the problem that viper doesnt process the audio at all. even after reinstalling viper etc.
his only solution was a factory reset of the headunit (you can do that via the honda settings menu).
i didnt try a factory reset yet. since i dont know what settings i would lose after it.

OK I think I'm crazy, but I did this in settings and now it seems to work! The EQ settings are definitely having effect. THANK YOU! Really strange.

Now I will see if it works when I restart the car, or if I must open Viper again too.

There is an issues with having to restart viper after you’ve connected android auto, disconnected it, and reconnected it.
