My seat did have to break in some. It was very uncomfortable when new. After a few months, it was much better

I've had the luxury of owning both a 2016 EX-T Sedan and now a 2019 Si Sedan. The Si seats are awful for road trips. Mainly neck area and no matter how I adjust the seat it's always the neck in pain. GF said the same thing.

I have driven for 9hrs in the car a few times and no real issues with the seats. The side bolster are sometimes a little uncomfy but as soon as you hit a turn you are thankful they are there. Good luck finding a comfy seat position, it sometimes takes time.

I drove my Civic 2,500 miles across country from Florida to Las Vegas and I rarely experienced any discomfort. What was uncomfortable is that before my Si I owned a 1st Gen Scion XB and drove that thing across country and my back hurt like hell within the first hour of driving. I loved that xB, it was the most fun, coolest car I ever owned, kept it 13 years but I finally had to grow up a little and buy an Si!

The softer the seat generally the more your back might be sore because it forces more stabilization. I think the car is pretty comfortable and I work out of my car. I put about30k last year and I am in my car for about 25 hours a week in the car. I do agree with the headrest being to far forward, but it meant for event of a crash to minimize movement. I know some cars are awful but newer cars tend to be more appealing to my back.

I believe the seating in certain brands of cars fits some people better than others, Honda’s have always fit me well, Toyota’s not as much. I’ve never had any neck problems driving long distances with my 2018 Civic Coupe, I’m about 5-8, short legs, I think it helps.

I find the seats comfortable, granted the longest trip we’ve taken in it so far is about 3 hours. My boyfriend’s 8th gen on the other hand, talk about uncomfortable on road trips. I was uncomfortable as the passenger who could sit however.
Every time he gets in my car he comments on how much better my seats are than his.
We should be taking a 10 hour trip soon in it, so they’ll be put to the test.

I wonder if a person’s body build makes a difference on how the seats are perceived in the case, I would assume so.

For me, I find the seats comfortable so far. Im 5'8", longer legs for my height, I like to sit as far back as I can with being able to depress the clutch all the way in. I have the seat up about 4 ratchets and the seat back a little reclined, not much, just enough where I can either rest my head or not on the head rest. In normal around town I dont, but on the highway I can and still be comfortable. For those of you that get neck pain, what about those neck pillows for cars? I have seen them on Amazon. Will one be able to wrap around the solid head rest of the SI seats? I would think that those would supply missing support. The same for the Lumbar pillows for those that dont like the lower support of the seats.

Well we all know about opinions so I'm going jump in here with mine. Back a few decades (i'm 68 yrs old) when a person bought a pair of shoes they were made to have a break in period. That has changed in recent years and now a person who buys shoes expects, and so does the company that makes them, to be comfortable from day one. No break in period. That being said -- Same with car seats. They either are or are not comfortable !! Your break in period for the seat was the second you but your butt into them. Not going to get much better over time -- not much worse either. See -- all this great advice for free !!

I drove from NY to Miami about 5 times owning my si. Ive owned the car for a year and a half now. Keep the seat straight and slide the seat at a comfortable position for your legs and i always been good.
